Working in the Sterile Processing Department, you will support surgical procedures by ensuring medical instruments are clean, sterile, organized, and available for the surgical team. Duties
* Reprocess surgical trays post-surgery; ensuring they are decontaminated, cleaned, inspected, sterilized, correctly assembled within a timely manner and ready for the next case.
* Operates all mechanical machinery within the department such as, but not limited to, cart washers, instrument washers, steam sterilizers, low temp sterilizers, ultrasonic and drying cabinets within sterile processing.
* Uses the implemented Track & Trace system established within the sterile processing department for all tasks and products processed.
* Able to perform assembly on advanced instrument and vendor trays aligned with IP quality and production standards.

* Assembles case carts.

As a PMC Sterile Processing Tech, you will serve as an essential part of the patient's experience by performing a variety of duties related to the care and reprocessing of GI flexible endoscopes and accessories. JOB SUMMARY
The Delivery Technician is responsible for delivering durable medical equipment to Apria patients in the home.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pulls, packs, delivers and picks up medications, supplies and basic equipment.
May instruct patients on basic use of respiratory therapy equipment, durable medical equipment, oxygen equipment, and other equipment/services approved by state licensure limitations.
Loads and unloads durable medical and infusion equipment onto delivery vehicle.
Responds to emergency delivery calls as needed during regular business hours and on an on-call basis.
Completes necessary paperwork including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms and vehicle maintenance logs. Distributes paperwork to appropriate personnel.

Our office, Triangle Implant Center, in Durham North Carolina, is seeking an experienced Sterilization Technician to join our busy specialty practice.

Your Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety in our dental practice. As a Dental Sterilization Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring all dental instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for use by our dental professionals.
Responsibilities:
Perform thorough cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of dental instruments, equipment, and surfaces following established protocols and guidelines.
Operate and maintain autoclaves and other sterilization equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Prepare and organize instrument trays and setups for various dental procedures, anticipating the needs of dental professionals.
Maintain an inventory of sterilization supplies and order replacements as necessary to ensure continuous workflow.
Monitor and record sterilization cycles, maintaining accurate records and logs of all sterilization activities.
Collaborate with dental assistants and hygienists to ensure smooth and efficient instrument flow during patient appointments.
Assist in other dental tasks as needed, contributing to the overall patient care experience.
As one of the essential members of our office, you will also help to facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.

Previous experience in a similar role equating to X years of experience in similar work
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a dental or medical sterilization role is preferred but not mandatory.
Familiarity with dental instruments, equipment, and infection control protocols.
Knowledge of OSHA and CDC guidelines for infection control in a dental setting.
Detail-oriented and able to follow established protocols precisely.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with dental professionals and support staff.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.

Receives, sorts, disassembles and processes contaminated instruments and equipment using the procedures and guidelines as established by Infection Control. Removes soil, blood, tissue fragments and body fluids by wiping, soaking, rinsing, scrubbing and using ultrasonic or other mechanical methods, as applicable.
Assembles all instrument sets following prescribed manner and as outlined on the Instrument Count Sheets. Properly documents missing items from the set and labels sets correctly. Takes action to correct problems with instrument sets and reports any unresolved issues.
Sterilizes instruments, equipment, linen and supplies using various types of autoclaves and aerators. Reprocesses equipment via high level disinfection as appropriate. Loads and operates machinery in prescribed manner and sets controls to correct specifications for the items being sterilized.
Documents all activities related to instrument/equipment decontamination, assembly, disinfection, and sterilization in the Instrument Tracking System (SPM, Censitrac) or established manual systems.
Observe and interpret biological, mechanical and chemical monitors relevant to processing/sterilizing. Record results and maintains required records. Initiates recalls as required.
Issues items to customers and departments according to established procedures.
Observes and reports to supervisor any unfamiliar items with or without appropriate processing literature. Reports equipment requiring repair as needed. Is self-directed and intervenes with corrections to variances in the processing practice.
Models Prisma Health behavior expectations. Assists with coaching, mentoring and training coworkers as assigned. Trains and assists with integration of new team members. Shares knowledge, ideas and expertise to support the team and the department.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
Education - Completion of job-related coursework: Surgical Tech, Sterile Processing Tech, or Dental Assistant training program.

In Lieu Of
In lieu of the education requirement only, will accept High School diploma or equivalent and 6 months experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Certification as either: CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association); OR CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician) from CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution) preferred
Applicants without sterile processing certification are required to obtain CRCST certification via HSPA within ONE (1) year of meeting the eligibility requirements to sit for the certification exam. Eligibility is defined by HSPA as "10 weeks (400 hours) experience" in a Sterile Processing hospital setting.
