Position details Status Full-Time Shift Overnights FTE / Hours 1.0 / 40 Schedule Mon - Fri: 10:00pm - 6:30am Position Requirements Education: High School Education or GED required. Licensure: N/A Certification: Sterile Processing Certification preferred. Experience: 1+ year of surgical experience preferred. Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of instrumentation preferred. Key attention to detail required to inspect surgical instruments for cleanliness and functionality. To further identify instruments in need of repair or refurbishment and ensure correct process is followed to prevent negative outcomes to the surgical team. Knowledge of equipment function sufficient to be able to determine operational adequacy and to distinguish between operator error and equipment malfunction. Knowledge of applicable sanitary, infection control, and safety standards sufficient to be able to perform all assignments within the safety parameters Essential Job Functions Cleaning and Disinfection. Preparation and Sterilization. Keeps accurate records of sterilization processes to comply with federal and other external regulations by following departmental policies and procedures. Carefully and properly handles sterilized items to ensure sterility is maintained. Sets high standards of performance and productivity for self and others. Uses communication skills to achieve the desired outcomes and is perceived as satisfying and acceptable by those involved promoting teamwork. Supports quality and cost-effective care. Promotes the team concept by demonstrating commitment and involvement among co-workers and other members of the health care team. Maintains professional appearance, behavior and work environment. Physical requirements: This position is classified as Light Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (66% of the time) to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Must be able to pass background check. We also conduct pre-employment physical and drug testing. We're looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Dental Sterile Technician to join our team and help keep our instruments, equipment, and treatment areas safe, clean, and organized. Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Prior experience in a dental office or sterile processing environment preferred , but not required (on-the-job training available) Strong attention to detail Responsibilities (including, but not limited to): Clean, disinfect, package, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to OSHA and CDC guidelines Maintain sterilization logs and ensure proper documentation of sterilization cycles Organize and restock sterilization areas and operatories with necessary supplies Monitor and maintain sterilization equipment (e.g., autoclaves) and report any maintenance needs Assist dental team members in preparing operatories for procedures Handle biohazard waste and ensure proper infection control standards are met Support general office cleanliness and contribute to a safe, efficient workflow Benefits: Health Insurance - Fordland Clinic pays 90% of an individual coworker's monthly premium costs, and a significant portion of alternate plans for employee only, employee + spouse, employee+ child(ren), or family coverage. This position may be scheduled to work any of the days the clinic is open (Monday through Friday) and may be scheduled to arrive 15 minutes prior to opening and may be scheduled to leave one hour after closing, depending on patients scheduled.
