What you will be doing
You will be providing IT Support to our Safeway stores in and around Honolulu, HI and the surrounding area including Eva Beach, Mililani, Aiea, Kailua. You would work on deploying equipment and installing new hardware and software. You would also work with our computers, printers, POS Systems, scales, and Network Servers.
The successful individual will provide IT Technical Support to our Safeway retail grocery stores in and around Honolulu, HI and the surrounding area including Eva Beach, Mililani, Aiea, Kailua. In addition, the successful person will be tasked with troubleshooting and configuring various pieces of IT hardware unique to retail, as well as conducting break-fix repair on our computers, printers, POS Systems, scales, and Network Servers.
In this role you will have the opportunity to work on different projects and learn new technologies. In addition, you will have the opportunity to learn all facets of store support, network with fellow Technicians and support store directors to run our best-in-class retail grocery stores.
The position will be based in Honolulu, HI with 25% travel to the outer islands, Island of Hawaii, Maui and Kauai.
Main responsibilities
* Support standard hardware platforms and systems installed throughout Safeway
* Repair all approved standard technology hardware including PC/Server hardware, Network hardware, RF hardware, and printers.
* Provide complete recoverability of systems and applications.
* Trouble shoot resolution.
* Installation of new hardware and software.
* Provide customers with IT support; meet goals for service level agreements.
* Provide network and remote connectivity (hardware/software) support.
* Maintain equipment inventory controls and policies.
* Work with Support Center (STSC) on assignment of problems, support issues and concerns with computer systems.
* Interface with all Corporate IT groups for on-site support and technology resolutions.
* Adhere to repair standards and service levels established.
* Driving required for this Zone Service Area.
What we are searching for
* Excellent telephone, customer service and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather important information to resolve high pressure issues/situations (for remote locations)

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:
* High school graduate, BA/BS degree preferred, or 3+ year's technical/training/hardware certifications preferred.
* Information Technology project implementation exposure with 5+ year's technical systems and 2+ years of technical support experience.
* 2+ years' experience with retail store systems, technology systems and hardware preferred.
* 2+ years' experience with installation and configuration of desktop and peripheral technology preferred.
* Must have a good, safe driving record. Must have a reliable vehicle for this position.
Physical Environment:
* Work may be performed in a temperature-controlled environment.
* Must sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.
* May spend long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
* Will use keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday.
* Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
* Workday is fast paced; some evening and weekend work may be required.

The hourly range is $26.57 to $ 34.53. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

* Compile reports on multiple aspects of instrument processing and quality assurance.

Essential Functions:
Decontaminates and processes instruments, including compiling instrument sets, counting instruments and recording counts. Sterilizes instruments, trays, basins, etc. with the appropriate exposure/dry times. Prepares instruments for “immediate use” sterilization when necessary. Maintains a clean and orderly environment in the department by daily wiping of counters, sinks, exterior surface of autoclaves and high disinfection equipment. Cleans the autoclave chambers on a weekly basis. Assists Operating Room Housekeeping with room turn over, terminal cleaning of Operating Room suites, and daily duties, if necessary. Assists with picking supplies/instruments for upcoming cases.
Performs daily diagnostic testing on sterilizing equipment, including test packs, biological indicators and diagnostic cycle for Endoscope Processors. Evaluates instruments for function and safety when reprocessing. Provides reprocessing services for ancillary department instruments, including Emergency Room, Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Radiology.
Identifies and evaluates loaner instruments prior to processing. Records loaner information in a log for tracking. Maintains Biological Incubator and log; evaluates for biological test results.
Provides technical services and assists in operating room, recovery, outpatient endoscopy, and central sterile as assigned and directed. Works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and reports to the perioperative services manager.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

With 118 beds and more than 400 physicians on its medical staff, Pali Momi Medical Center offers a full range of services for the communities of Central and West O'ahu. The hospital has delivered many medical firsts for the community, including Central and West O'ahu's only interventional cardiac catheterization unit to detect and treat heart disease, a fully integrated minimally invasive surgical suite, a comprehensive women's center, CT scan and MRI services, and the state's first retina center. Pali Momi is the only facility in Hawai'i that uses a team triage approach in its emergency room, where patients are promptly evaluated by an emergency physician.
Our Sterile Services department provides full support throughout the medical facility with centralized processing and maintenance of medical/surgical supplies and equipment. Professional care services include cleaning, storing and issuance of both sterile and non-sterile devices, equipment and supplies.
As the Surgical Instrument Processing Technician, you will be responsible for cleaning, preparing, assembling, sterilizing, distributing and ensuring the quality of all surgical instruments and specific medical equipment. You will also inventory and replenish medical supplies via various distribution systems. We are looking for someone with outstanding patient care and communication skills, a strong sense of surgical procedure and protocol and a commitment to creating a healthier Hawai'i.
