Expectations:

EDUCATION:

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

As our SterileProcessing Professional, you will be a critical guardian of patient safety, ensuring surgical teams receive correct, fully functional, and sterile instrumentation.

Troubleshoots equipment within Department

Transports and decontaminates all soiled instrumentation and equipment to a state of cleanliness, disinfection and disposes of all infectious items according to established procedures
Maintains customer focuses and service responsiveness by answering incoming calls in a timely manner and responding immediately to emergency requests

About the Role
The Lead SterileProcessingTechnician is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies, instrumentation, and equipment dispensed by the department throughout the hospital. Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments, medical supplies, and equipment, and assembles, wraps, and sterilizes trays of instruments. Follow proper Standard Precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas.
Monitors biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment.
Sorts mismatched sets of instruments, trays, and medical equipment and makes them available to sterileprocessing customers in a timely manner.
Restocks, labels, and maintains inventory, submits requisitions, collects, and distributes instruments, trays, crash carts, and facility medical equipment. Performs environmental maintenance duties and assists in maintaining inventory levels in sterileprocessing, the operating room, and in equipment storage areas.
Verifies that equipment functions properly, requisitions for equipment maintenance, repair, or replacement, and removes defective equipment.

We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Colon and Rectal, ENT, Gastroenterology, General, Gynecology, Hand, Ophthalmology, Pain Management, Plastic, Podiatry, Urology. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to changed based on surgical schedule and flow of day. Candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings.
Job Summary: The SterileProcessingTechnician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform a range of duties required to decontaminate, clean, prepare, store, and distribute medical supplies and equipment used in all areas of the hospital. Duties of the Medical Supply Technician (SterileProcessing) may include but are not limited to:
* Inventories, replenishes shortages from sterile supply, inspects for sterility integrity for instrument sets and expendable items.
* Adheres to facility regulations regarding application and removal of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* Rotates, restocks outdated supplies, and maintains stock levels of surgical supplies and equipment for wards, clinics, and the operating room.
* Initiates requests for items based on the daily schedule of needs or individual requisitions.
* Prepares individual surgical case carts with required instruments and surgical supplies for each scheduled and emergency operative procedure.
* Trains new and/or lower graded employees at the request of supervision.

* Is a resource for physicians and staff with the ProVation and epic system.
