Communicates any issues that arise with instrument preparation to the Sterile Processing Supervisor or Manager.
Sterilization:
Sterilizes instruments and surgical trays by following prescribed policies and procedures.
Challenges the sterilization process by using internal, external and biological monitoring systems appropriately.
Monitors, reads, documents, and interprets all parameters for all types of sterilizers to insure proper function and patient safety.
Picks surgical case carts by following established Surgeon Preference Cards or Procedural Pick list / requisition.
Case Carts & Supplies:
Assembles and distributes case carts per department policy.

EQUIPMENT:
Steam autoclaves, plasma sterilizers, paracetic acid sterilizers, biological incubators, mechanical automated instrumentation washers and cart washers, instrumentation management software, materials requirements supply chain software, and electronic email.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work environment is in a comfortable indoor area.
Conditions such as noise, odors, cramped workspace and/or fumes could sometimes cause discomfort.
Moderate to extreme physical effort such as walking, standing, and lifting materials, equipment, objects and/or patients may be required.
Occasional lifting may be heavy and awkward, over 50 lbs.
Vision, hearing, talking, and sense of touch must be adequate to enable one to perform tasks quickly and accurately such as reading small print, defining details, sending, and receiving clear and accurate oral communication.
Frequent periods of concentrated or focused attention will be needed to interpret visual, auditory, and sensory inputs.
Shift work may be required.
Alertness and careful attention to detail will be required to avoid injury.

This individual performs various routine cleaning functions and assignments as directed by the EVS Lead or Director, including cleaning, sanitizing, trash removal, linen, and delivery. The Environment Attendant maintains the hospital in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition based on the EVS standards included in the EVS Policy and Procedure Manual.
Qualifications:
* Completion of high school education or equivalent preferred.
* Must be able to read, write and follow instructions in English.
* Hospital experience is preferred but not necessary.
* Ability to follow established EVS Policies and Procedures in performing daily tasks.
* Possess the ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks, including cleaning patient rooms, offices, and restrooms, providing floor care, porter linens and trash throughout the hospital, and detail cleaning.
* Must be able to keep all equipment in good working condition.
* Possess the ability to perform periodic or situational duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Job Summary and Responsibilities Assist the physician and registered nurse in caring for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. Responsible for maintenance and disinfection of endoscopic equipment and accessories.
* Cleans and disinfects endoscopes and accessory equipment as per manufacturer guideline
* Properly documents the cleaning/disinfection of all endoscopes on appropriate logs
* Prepares accessory equipment for sterilization and delivers these to Central Sterile Processing at the end of day
* Documents dates of change of disinfection solution, solution quality testing and reprocessing equipment filter changes
* Responsible for assessing equipment on a daily basis and notification and escalation of any equipment damage and repair needs to appropriate channels and to assigned unit leader
* Responsible for set‐up and clean‐up of procedure room, supply carts, pre and post procedural areas and equipment
* Performs as an assistant to the physician during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as directed by the physician or registered nurse
* Cleans and re‐stocks room and unit supplies and accessories
* Performs transporter duties as necessary
* Provides assistance with skilled nursing care as directed by RN
* Assists with orientation of new personnel
* Delivers and picks up lab specimens and patient care supplies and equipment
* Provides delegated clerical support
* Communicates with patient's family, physicians, and unit personnel and peers in an accurate, courteous and professional manner
* Other duties as assigned
