Role Summary:
The Central ProcessingSterileTechnician is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, and storing surgical instruments and equipment. This role ensures the operating team has the tools needed for safe, effective patient care, directly supporting the perioperative process and overall patient safety
Hours:
Monday-Friday schedule
8:00am- 4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm
No nights, weekends, holidays, or call
What You'll Do:
Clean, inspect, sterilize, and package instruments and equipment according to standards
Assemble instrument trays and maintain accurate labeling and storage
Operate sterilizers, washers, and related equipment safely and effectively

Under the supervision and guidance of the SterileProcessing Manager and the SterileProcessing Lead Technician the SterileProcessingTechnician is responsible for decontamination, preparation, sterilization, distribution, and control of medical-surgical instruments, supplies and equipment for the Perioperative departments, and other patient care areas as well as surgical case cart preparation.
* High School Diploma, GED, or a higher level of education that would require the completion of high school, is required.
* One year of recent full time CSR experience preferred.
* Central SterileTechnician certification through the Certification Board for SterileProcessing and Distribution (CBSPD) or the International Association of Healthcare Central Service and Materials Management (IAHCSMM). If not currently certified, certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire. In lieu of Technician certification, Surgical Instrument Specialist certification from either of these organizations will be accepted only for those who were working in SterileProcessing prior to January 1, 2016.
* Certification must be maintained.
* Performs decontamination and high level disinfection of medical- surgical instrumentation and equipment according to department policies, infection prevention guidelines, and manufacturers' written instructions.
* Inspects, assembles and sterilizes surgical instruments insuring instruments are clean, functioning properly and sets are complete.
* Performs Steam and Sterrad sterilization, and high level disinfection according to established policies and procedures.
* Performs required monitoring and record keeping of sterilization and disinfection processes including knowledge of procedures for monitoring failures and the recall procedure.
* Prepares and fills case carts with supplies and instruments according to preference card pick lists.
* Retrieves surgeon preference cards from Care Navigator for add-on procedures.
* Retrieves case carts from Operating Rooms and delivers to the decontamination area throughout the shift.
* Retrieves contaminated instruments from patient care areas.
* Issues and/or delivers medical-surgical instruments and supplies to patient care areas.
* Prepares, replenishes and exchanges emergency code carts.
* Transports medication trays for code cart replenishment.
* Orders and stocks medical-surgical supplies.
* Required to be on call when scheduled for weekends, 3rd shift, holidays and other times deemed necessary by the SterileProcessing Manager and/or SterileProcessing Lead Technician.

EDUCATION
High school graduate or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
Requires six (6) months of experience employed as a central service technician in a health care facility prior to January 1, 2016, or a certified registered central service technician credential administered by IAHCSMM or a certified sterileprocessing and distribution technician credential administered by CBSPD. Must be competent and physically able to perform all duties in CSS independently (Decontam, Assembly, Sterilization and Distribution). No current written disciplinary actions. Meet or exceed production standards. Applicants with no experience or certification must obtain a certified registered central service technician credential administered by IAHCSMM or a certified sterileprocessing and distribution technician credentialed administered by CBSPD within 24 months of hire.

JOB SUMMARY
Our Delivery Technicians positively impact the lives of patients each and every day by delivering medical equipment to them in their home. Delivery Technicians provide excellent customer service by going above and beyond to communicate product information, provide solutions and ensure understanding of relevant details so that patients feel comfortable operating their equipment.
The anticipated hourly range for this position is $16.66 - $24.26. The actual compensation offered may vary based on job related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Load and unload medical equipment, oxygen and supplies onto and off of delivery vehicles.
Deliver medical equipment to homecare patients; including, setting up the equipment, instructing patients on the basic use of the equipment and assisting patients in solving problems regarding equipment use. Will also pick up medical equipment.
Ensure patients do not suffer service failures by proactively communicating estimated arrival times with patients and/or family members.
Complete daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, reimbursement documents and vehicle maintenance logs via paper or electronic means (cell phone and/or iPad).
Perform routine vehicle maintenance and daily inspections including the checking of gasoline, oil fluids, tire pressure and brakes. Responsible for reporting any issues or malfunctions to leadership.
Respond to critical situations as appropriate, during regular business hours and on an on-call basis.
Comply with all applicable traffic laws and regulatory requirements; including, practicing safe driving habits and providing required documents needed for the Driver Qualification File.
Adhere to mandatory reporting requirements; physical abuse of any family member, unsafe home environment for care ordered, unsanitary conditions or animals causing such, or insufficient food for children.
May clean and assist with the repair of equipment.
May assist with the scheduling of daily deliveries and pickups, ensuring they are organized in a timely and efficient manner.

**JOB SUMMARY**
Our Delivery Technicians positively impact the lives of patients each and every day by delivering medical equipment to them in their home. + Ensure patients do not suffer service failures by proactively communicating estimated arrival times with patients and/or family members.

Load and unload sterilizers and ensure sterile integrity prior to release
Accurately scan instruments, trays, and supplies into the tracking system
