Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician training program or equivalent experience. Basic knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and medical terminology. Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain meticulous records. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle instruments safely. Qualifications: Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or equivalent. Experience working in a surgical center sterile processing department. Familiarity with electronic tracking systems for instrument sterilization and inventory management. Strong understanding of regulatory standards such as those from The Joint Commission. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment. Responsibilities: Receive, sort, and decontaminate used surgical instruments and equipment following strict infection control guidelines.
