GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: United Digestives Endoscopy Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all endoscopy equipment per manufacture guidelines. Contributes to the overall function of the center by assisting with instrument reprocessing, basic clinical tasks, housekeeping duties, clerical and front office tasks as assigned by management. Endoscopy Technician, under direct supervision, will assist with patient care as needed. REPORTS TO: Endoscopy Manager RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties may include but are not limited to: Assists with the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse Explains procedures and expected sensations to patient and provides instructions to ensure patient cooperation and to minimize discomfort. Provides both emotional and physical support to patients during procedure.
