Under general supervision of the Sterile Processing Supervisor, the SPD Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing the decontamination, assembly and sterilization process of all instruments, inventory of supplies, training of new staff members, and assisting with the coordination of maintenance and service of equipment as needed.

The Delivery Technician I effectively interacts with patients/clients, their families, caregivers, and members of the healthcare/HME team in providing professional home medical equipment products and services. Provides delivery set-up, initial instruction, and pick-up of HME.
Job Duties / Essential Functions:
Deliver, set up and pick up durable medical equipment, oxygen products, and supplies to home care patients and commercial accounts following all company policies and procedures.
Provide patient/client with clear instruction on the proper use of equipment.
Able to assess home safety, accessibility and patient/customer status and needs, communicate with supervisor or Quality team when patient/environment has changed.
Partner with dispatch department to create most efficient delivery routes.
Practice safe driving habits and ensure proper oversight of vehicle and equipment while on a delivery or pick-up.
Follow proper safety precautions, both on the road and within patient/client locations. Perform proper infection control procedures.
Treat patients with kindness and compassion.
On a rotating basis, ability to be on-call and respond to inquiries or concerns within company guidelines.

Requirements:

Valid driver's license with no significant infractions per the DMV within the last 3 years

The purpose of this position is to support the oral surgery team by ensuring all surgical instruments, equipment, and work areas are properly prepared, sterilized, and maintained to the highest safety and quality standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining an efficient surgical environment by performing decontamination and sterilization processes, organizing and assembling surgical trays, and upholding OSHA guidelines for personal and workplace safety. Essential Functions
Perform all decontamination, cleaning, inspection, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and safety standards.

Operate and maintain sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, and other reprocessing equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment that meets OSHA, infection control, and practice standards.
Follow all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and adhere to strict safety procedures to minimize risk of contamination or exposure.

Assist in the setup and breakdown of surgical rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are prepared and readily available.
Support the surgical and clinical team during procedures as needed within the scope of the role.
Communicate clearly with clinical staff to ensure accurate instrument flow and anticipate surgical needs.
Maintain inventory of instruments, supplies, and sterilization materials; notify leadership when stock is low or replacement is needed.
Participate in ongoing training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of sterilization practices, equipment uses, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalency, required.
Experience:
Previous experience in a dental, oral surgery, medical, or sterile processing environment preferred
Experience with sterilization processes, including cleaning, decontamination, packaging, and autoclave operation, strongly preferred.
Familiarity with OSHA, infection control, and universal precaution protocols in a clinical setting.
Experience working with surgical instruments, including identification, inspection, and proper assembly of instrument trays.
Hands-on experience using sterilization and cleaning equipment, such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and steam sterilizers.
Experience working in a fast-paced clinical or surgical environment, demonstrating the ability to prioritize and multitask.
Customer service or patient-facing experience in a healthcare setting is helpful but not required.

The Scrap Room Technician is responsible for the unloading, receiving, and processing (SAP Goods Receipt) of all inbound aluminum coils. They are responsible to deliver the coils to the line for consumption as well as removal of all dunnage and packaging materials following processing. This person is also responsible for handling all of the processing of scrap materials in the scrap room. This includes, but is not limited to, weighing, processing (SAP BOL creation), and loading scrap onto trucks for outbound shipment.
Essential Functions/Key Deliverables
Inspect the technical condition of the Forklift and other material handling equipment before starting work to determine the need for repairs to safely operate machinery.
Record pre-use checks in the provided system or the vehicle logbook as required.
Operation of large industrial lift truck (approx. 80,000lbs capacity).
Report any faults and/or breakdowns of the equipment to Production Supervisor.
Unload, receive, and prepare all inbound coils for processing.
Deliver coils to the point of use i.e. coil handling equipment located in production area.
Dispose of all packaging materials and dunnage in a timely and efficient manner.
Remove all recyclable materials from production floor each shift and process through proper waste stream.
Weigh, process, and load scrap bales onto trucks in preparation for shipment.
Preventative Maintenance of equipment i.e. check oil level in balers, housekeeping, greasing, filter changes.
Communicate any needed repairs or work requests via the plant work order system.
Use SAP to receive inbound materials and create BOLs for outbound shipments.
Prioritize work in order to support production and ensure uninterrupted plant operation through on-time delivery of raw materials and efficient removal of process scrap.
Transport materials to the production department complying with FIFO procedures.
Clean Fork-Lift-Trucks and other handling equipment in accordance with ISO and BRC standards.
Assist with the implementation and maintenance of CP systems, including performing internal audits as required.
Safely exchange fork truck gas cylinders, refill fuel tank, or replace, re-charge batteries (whichever applies).
Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role.

House Bill 81 of 2019 The Central Service Technician and Surgical Technologist Regulation Act
Enacted 10/29/2020 - Effective 12/29/2020 (See attached HB for definitions for Central service technician
and Surgical technologist)
Section 301: Certification
Central Service Technician (CST) hired after 12/29/2020 must:
Pass a nationally accredited central service exam for CST AND maintain one of the following:
Certified registered central service technician credential
OR
Certified sterile processing and distribution technician credential
Exemption: Law does not apply to an individual who has been employed or otherwise contracted for services as a central service technician by a health care facility on or before December 29, 2020.
Exemption Requirement: the facility shall maintain documentation of the CST's date of employment or the contract period when the central service technician provided services to the facility to verify that the CST meets the exemption requirements.
Section 302: Employment and continuing education
(a) New employees - CST has 18 months from date of hire to pass a nationally accredited central service exam for CST and obtain one of the two credentials noted above.
(b) Continuing education - Annually complete 10 hours of continuing education. (NOTE: The continuing education required under this subsection shall be in areas related to the functions of a central service technician.)
(c) Facility responsibility - Facility must maintain documentation the CST meets the certification requirements
Section 501:
Surgical Technologist (ST) must meet at least one of the following:-
Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program sponsored by an entity holding nationally recognized institutional or programmatic accreditation and hold and maintains a ST certification from an accredited certification program. [501(1)(i)] *
OR
* Successful completion of appropriate training program for surgical technology in the United States Army, Navy, or Air Force.

* Provides evidence of an ST certification from an accredited certification program.
OR
* Was employed to practice surgical technology by the health care facility on or before December 29, 2020.
OR
* Was employed to practice surgical technology as the individual's primary function in another health care facility at any time during the two years immediately preceding December 29, 2020.
Section 502: Continuing education:
(a) An ST employed or contracted with the facility and not certified under section 501(1)(i) or has let the individual's certification lapse shall:
(1) with the continuing education requirements specified by the credentialing organization as necessary to keep the certification current and (2) provide proof of compliance with the continuing education requirements to the facility.
(b) Additional Requirement - An ST employed or contracted with the facility and not certified under section 501(1)(i) or has let the individual's certification lapse shall:
(1) complete 30 hours of relevant continuing education every two years in order to remain eligible to practice surgical technology; and (2) be responsible for proving, to the satisfaction of the health care facility, that the individual complies with this subsection.
(c) Verification-- A facility that employs or contracts with an ST shall verify the ST meets the continuing education requirements.
Section 503. Exception. A facility may employ or contract an ST who does not meet the requirements of section 501 to practice surgical technology if:

Maintain records of inventory or tool usage and relay information to office manager to replenish supplies when inventory is low
Stock dental supplies
Qualifications
