Part-time Description The Swedish Institute, College of Health Sciences is hiring an experienced a part-time Sterile Processing Technician Instructor. The Sterile Processing Technician Instructor will be responsible for directing, evaluating, and reporting student progress towards course objectives and for the periodic review and updating of course material. May travel to relevant medical facilities, community venues, as required, in support of curricular activities. Attends faculty meetings, in-service meetings, graduation and other college events as required by the College. Ensures that there are sufficient and a variety of clinical sites for students to be placed at during their clinical rotation. Responsible for organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of clinical experiences for students enrolled in the program. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for preparing and assembling medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment, maintaining the sterile processing areas, and receiving and distributing surgical supplies and equipment. • Assists the Operating Room staff by providing instruments and supplies to perform the scheduled procedure. The Central Processing Technologist is responsible for the maintenance and sterility of all supplies and instrumentation used during the course of the day in the operating and procedure rooms. Full-time Description Under the direct supervision of the SVP of Dental Services, the Sterilization Technician supports daily operations of all activities that relate to the reprocessing of reusable medical supplies and instrumentation including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage processes within all set professional standards and regulations and following strict infection control guidelines. The Sterilization Technician will assist the site staff in performing sterilization, equipment maintenance and inventory as needed.
