Reassemble reusable medical instruments according to AAMI, AORN, FDA, and OSHA guidelines and MIFU, checking each instrument for staining, pitting, cracking, and rust. Properly package instruments to maintain sterility until needed. Prepare and label packages accurately, ensuring all contents are documented. Maintain accurate records of cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with AAMI, AORN, FDA, and facility protocols. Train new staff members on sterile processing procedures and best practices to ensure a high standard of care. Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
