The SterileProcessingTechnician maintains adequate inventory for assembly of instruments and equipment and performs multiple tasks that assist in the daily operation of all units as well as being responsible for customer service.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent?
Certification as required by state regulations or contract specifications?

Job Summary: The SterileProcessingTechnician II ensures the highest quality standards are met by departmental procedures and established industry standards. SterileProcessingTechnician III disassembles, cleans, disinfects, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, sterilizes, and distributes sterile instruments, flexible scopes and supplies used in the Operating Rooms, Maternity, Emergency Department, and throughout the hospital; perform chemical, mechanical, and biological testing of disinfection and sterilization equipment. Must be able to perform all duties in accordance with the NWH Policies and Procedures. International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) and/or the Certification Board for SterileProcessing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD) standards and procedures should be understoodand followed. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining CRCST or CBSPD at all times during employment. Essential Functions: - Perform the disassembly, cleaning, disinfection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation and other equipment. - Leak test, evaluate, clean/disinfect, and process flexible endoscopes. - Inspect instrumentation for cleanliness and proper functioning. - Assemble surgical instruments and kits utilizing kit assembly information. - Package, wrap, and prepare kit/instrument loads for sterilization. - Load, operate, monitor, and complete documentation for all decontamination, disinfection, sterilization, and monitoring equipment. - Perform and document all chemical, mechanical, and biological monitoring of sterilizers and other equipment. - Respond effectively to emergency case requirements of the surgical team and other departments. - Assess instruments, components, and supplies for adequate levels required for the assembly of kits, and request necessary replacements in a timely manner. - Pick supplies and/or instruments for surgical cases utilizing surgeon specific preference cards. - Stock adult, pediatric and neonate code carts, intubation boxes. - Function independently in the absence of the Manager or Supervisor. - Utilize a variety of computer systems. Existing knowledge of EPIC and CSIQ/SPM are preferred. - Assist in the training of new staff and volunteers. - May required to rotate between the main SPD, GI, OSC Departments as needed. - Performs all other duties as needed. GI PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Room set up to include opening rooms: OFP (scope flush), CO2, suction. - Look at daily assignment: assigned to rooms, decontamination, or reprocessing - Obtain Clean Cart system and set up scopes for the shift and highlight whether it is a gastroscope, colonoscope (C=adult colon, PCF= Pedi colonoscope) - Scopes are kept in a closed, dry room that requires card access and access to the specialized drying closet. - Blue cart is gotten to transport scopes to procedure rooms: green covered tray to include scope and the Endo kits. - Set up scope - Sign on to computer and ProVation MD, locate the patient for listed procedure, verify correct account/medical record number and document correct information such as the PCP and scope number. - Maintain HIPPA standards - Using proper PPE: between a double procedure or post procedure pre clean at the bedside, attach patient sticker to the scope tray and the Aegis one hour indicator sticker (complete info on sticker). - Check oral suction use with upper endoscopy. - Dispose of empty water bottles with last scope of the day. - Dispose of dirty cannisters and replace. - Flush Environ-mate with Enzymatic solution daily followed by a liter of water. - Flush Environ-mate with bleach solution, followed by 2 liters of water, leave the system and wall suction on, clamp suction tubing overnight once/week. - Sign off computer and turn off monitor. - Remove used blue gowns to dirty utility room in the recovery room. - Stock rooms at the end of the day following par levels. - Performs all other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Education: - High school diploma or equivalent education required. - Effective written and verbal communications skills required. - Completion of Central Processing Technology Course required. Experience: At least three (3) years of sterileprocessing experience required performing all SterileProcessing functions within an operative setting. Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Registered Central Service Technician (C.R.C.S.T) or Certified SterileProcess/Dist Tech (C.S.P.D.T) or equivalent Required. Evaluate current thermal processes and propose process improvements.
Provide operational support to Manufacturing Supervisors by tracking downtime, reviewing daily manufacturing records, and other duties as assigned.
Track and calibrate critical instruments used in the make and fill areas for monitoring critical process parameters (i.e. vacuum gauges, Temp & pH meters, Brookfield, etc.).
Consult with plant personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
Support and participate in developing and implementing operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate problems and improve product quality.

The base pay scale for this position is $33.00 - $33.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. At the Hospital for Special Surgery, Central Service Professionals play an integral part of patient safety and contributing to our low infections rates. Our CSP department is responsible for decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging, sterilizing and safely transporting reusable surgical instruments to our surgical areas. CSP also provides disposable medical supplies to the perioperative areas via surgical case carts.
The mission is to provide customers with products that are 100% clean, complete, sterile and delivered on time. The process is complex due to the vast amounts and variety of surgical instruments found in each tray and meeting the demand of our very busy operating rooms here at HSS. The CSP team prides themselves in being engaged and compliant to regulatory standards for quality and patient safety in order to deliver the best service and products for patients that come to HSS.
In the Central SterileTechnician role, we rely on you to adhere to the mission by ensuring the delivery of our world-renowned patient care, and providing sterile supplies, instruments and equipment required for patients undergoing orthopedic surgical interventions. You will support all patient care areas by properly processing surgical equipment using washers, sterilizers, dryers, and heat sealers. The processing and logging of implants and loaner sets of instruments is also vital to your contribution.

Rome Health is seeking a full-time sterileprocessing and distribution technician to decontaminate, sterilize, prepare and package surgical instruments, devices and other equipment for safe patient care. A technician certified by International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) or Certification Board for SterileProcessing and Distribution (CBSPD) is preferred. However, the department will train the right candidate who is detail-oriented with demonstrated aptitude for consistently following and documenting established protocols for safety.
The position requires flexible scheduling and overtime as needed based upon clinical volume. Flex day shift with required On-call and rotating weekend, nights and holidays are required.

**_What Depot Operations contributes to VelocareTM_**
Velocare relies on small-format facilities to operate our distributed supply chain solution for patients receiving hospital-at-home care. This role is responsible for delivering medical products (with fleet vehicles) and performing minor technology set ups in patients' homes. It also includes performing necessary inventory management functions such as receiving, put-away, picking, loading vans, and physically and systematically delivering medical products to patient's homes.

**Responsibilities**
+ Deliver medical equipment using company transit van (non-CDL) to patient's homes and customer locations.
+ Perform healthcare services such as couriering medical products or medications, disposing of medications, printing paperwork, and setting up and troubleshooting technological devices.
+ Show empathy and compassion for customers/patients in every situation.
+ Load and unload fleet vehicles with medical products and equipment throughout every shift. Equipment can weigh up to 70 pounds and can be required to physically carry up multiple levels of stairs.
+ Perform technical installation and de-installation of medical devices in the home and troubleshoot technology in the home as the customer requires.
+ Manage orders via company phones including updating delivery statuses, using navigation to get to patient locations, taking and uploading proof-of-delivery photos, completing orders, and managing timelines throughout your shift.
+ Maintain vehicles in proper working condition and cleanliness and perform minor maintenance tasks.
+ Will hold self and associates accountable for conducting work in a safe manner, and assist in ensuring that depot personnel have safe, efficient equipment and vehicles to perform delivery functions.
+ Model a culture that strives toward continuous improvement in operations and in Environmental, Health and Safety.
+ Ensure quality service is provided to the customers and ensure prompt follow-through on customer correspondence, complaints and inquiries related to shipment of medical products and stock-on-hand.
+ Conduct equipment cleaning procedures on various durable medical equipment.
+ Satisfactorily complete training and be responsible for Cardinal Health compliance and regulations concerning OSHA, DEA, FDA, State and local authorities.

**Qualifications**
+ High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
