Minimum of 12 months experience in Sterile Processing and /or Central Distribution is strongly preferred. Must have knowledge of medical terminology, and must have strong communication and computer skills. Certification in Central Service Technology strongly preferred. Work Shift: 8 Hours - Night Shifts (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40Salary Range: $16.50 - $23.50 Union Position: No Department Details The Sterile Processing Department at Sanford is responsible to pick all clean supplies for each surgery, and to clean, & sterilize all surgical instruments. In this department you wear surgical scrubs so please come to work in your sweatpants and change into scrubs! You are never required to work outside your shift hours, but overtime is often available. You are assigned 1 holiday to work per year. Our department has room for growth with 6 different levels of responsibility and pay. Set schedule of hours, 8 hour shifts, Monday through Friday only. NO call! Summary Will be responsible for ensuring all patient care and surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments are properly inventoried, inspected, stored, distributed and reprocessed in a quality and timely manner throughout the health system. Job Description Follows all standard operating procedures (SOP) and policies and Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines. Able to recognize potential and actual processing errors, notify leadership and follow-up according to procedure or instruction. Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintains continuity in work flow. Is responsible for use of technologies such as copy and fax machine, internet, handheld devices, electronic medical records, instrument tracking systems, inventory management systems, email and Microsoft office. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in central processing or healthcare environment is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Must have strong phone and computer skills, with ability to navigate the internet and use handheld devices. Accurately receives and issues inventory stock items, provide timely and efficient service to the clinic various hospital departments in response to their requisition requests. Provides clean, sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment for patient care under the direction and supervision of the supply chain manager. Job Duties Performs generalized purchasing functions for the clinic and hospital including, but not limited to: contacting vendors to obtain pricing, quantities, and delivery times for goods and services, to the issue of requisitions/purchase orders, to receiving of purchases. Delivers goods to designated clinic and hospital departments. Completes monthly checklist on expiration dates for dated goods. Completes physical inventory procedures as required.
