The SterileProcessingTechnician is responsible for the effective cleaning, inspection, maintenance, proper sterilization and distribution of sterile instrumentation and equipment. Is a team player and works collaboratively with the OR to ensure all supplies, instrumentation and equipment are available for surgical cases as well as other procedures requiring sterile supplies and/or instrumentation. Assists the nurses and physicians in delivering the highest standard of patient care available. Is knowledgeable in sterileprocessing standards and serves as a patient safety advocate.
** This is an ON-CALL position ** Hours may vary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare SterileProcessing Association within 1 year of hire Or
National Certified SterileProcessing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for SterileProcessing and Distribution within 1 year of hire
Basic computer skills

Successful completion of a sterileprocessing course. Or 1 year of healthcare experience.

Ensures that an adequate number of in-house trays, instruments and supplies are available in accordance with daily/weekly caseload.
MACHINES, EQUIPMENT, WORK AIDES: Computer and telephone. Standard surgical instrument use and processing, equipment, and medical supplies. Autoclaves and washer/sterilizer.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Occasional overtime. Must handle stress in meeting time demands.

What you will be doing
As a Service & Delivery Technician I, you will be supporting our stores throughout Oregon and SW Washington. There will be times when you will need to support stores further, which at times will require overnight stays.
In this role, you will be helping with projects ranging from our quarterly IT deployments to remodels that require IT components to get updated and or re-installed.
Main responsibilities
* Support standard hardware platforms and systems installed throughout Safeway retail stores and district offices.
* Installation of new hardware and software components, such as desktops, iPads, servers, UPS battery backups, self-checkouts, printers, scanner scales, counter scales, and network equipment.
* Maintain equipment inventory controls and policies.

Job Description
Aids in the organizing, directing and controlling of the activities of the SterileProcessing Department in conjunction with the SterileProcessing Department Manager.
Provides constant and consistent supervision while on duty.
Assists the SterileProcessing Department Manager in helping to recruit, select, orient, train, discipline, and evaluate employees as necessary.
Responsible to practice in a professional manner the necessary leadership in representing, promulgating and enforcing the standards of quality assurance, infection control, JCAHO and other regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
Certification Required
SterileProcessing Department or related experience of at least once year is necessary.
Supervisory experience in the healthcare field is favored.
High school diploma is mandatory

General Description:
Responsible for the delivery, set-up, patient education and pick up of medical equipment.
Schedule: Mon-Fri plus on-call rotation
Essential Job Functions:
Be knowledgeable of and responsible for the current Quipt policies and procedures that apply to this position.
Responsible for setting up medical equipment in the patient's home in a professional, safe and timely manner.
Complete appropriate paperwork for the setup
Teach the patient about the safe and proper use of the medical equipment.
Instruct the patient on the safe and proper use of disposable supplies.
Instruct the patient on appropriate cleaning and maintenance of the equipment
Make routine deliveries, and pickup of medical equipment and supplies for existing patients.
Perform minor equipment repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment in the patient's home.
Help patient become and remain compliant with use of medical equipment.
Responsible for keeping vehicle clean, organized and maintained.
Comply with all federal, state and local regulations.
Assist Quipt in meeting its growth and financial goals.
MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT A MINIMUM OF 75#'S
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

The SterileProcessingTechnician II performs routine maintenance and preparation of instruments, supplies and equipment requiring decontamination and sterilization in a medical facility, as well as all duties performed by the SterileProcessingTechnician I.
This is the second level of a three-level series. It is distinguished from the lower level by increased responsibility for the sterilization, assembly, and testing of medical equipment, supplies and instruments. It is distinguished from the higher level by closer supervision and less complex procedures.
Function/Duties of Position
Knowledge in regards to the handling and care of instrumentation, tray preparation, and special procedural items. Assembling all trays processed by the department. Use knowledge of sterilization and infection control principles to properly decontaminate instrumentation and equipment.
Appropriately operate equipment including, but not limited to, cart washers, decontaminators, computers, ultrasonic, scanners, telephones, and photocopiers.
Performs routine instrument and equipment quality checks.
Dispense equipment & instrumentation, Restocking of Carts, Case Cart Picking, assists with Operating Room Turnover, Put aways (instruments, supplies, and equipment). Maintains Patient & Customer Focus.
Assists with inservicing and orientation of staff, both new and those in assignment rotation. Provides guidance and is a resource for all SterileProcessingTechnician I's.
Maintain records, reports, and patient charges according to established procedures. Maintain a clean and neat work area.
All duties assigned/performed by a SterileProcessingTechnician I.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
National certification from CBSPD or HSPA (Healthcare SterileProcessing Association), formerly IAHCSMM, is required at time of hire.
Two years' experience as a SterileProcessingTechnician in an acute care center with primary responsibility for instrumentation processing and sterilization.
Preferred Qualifications
Mt. Hood Community College SterileProcessing class.
Two years' experience as a SterileProcessingTechnician I; that has completed the following (OHSU SPD employees only) - with manager discretion based on skill-set & job performance.
Successful completion of an accredited SterileProcessing training program will allow 1 year of Tech I experience toward Tech II status
6 months training at OHSU w/ preceptor on all job requirements assigned to Tech II classification after successfully completing the 6 months' probation as a Tech I.
