**Summary:**
+ As a member of the Central Sterile Processing team, checks instrumentation for defects and cleanliness; assembles instrument sets and trays according to established procedures. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, decontaminating and sterilizing surgical instrumentation and supplies. Participates in Quality initiatives in the department.

New hires within New Jersey and Pennsylvania facilities must obtain Certification from a certified sterile processing technician program within 18 months of date of hire.

Can operate correctly all machinery associated with the Decontamination and Processing area and identify problems that affect the quality of the product produced.
2. Checks expiration dates on sterile items. Checks for outdated items and takes appropriate action if discovered.
3. Demonstrates proper phone etiquette. Uses proper procedure with callers on the business unit and OR Hotline phones in a courteous and efficient manner.
4. Makes daily soil rounds of the medical units. Performs daily soil rounds, visiting all required areas and returns all items to SPD for processing.
5. Performs functions in Decontamination area. Responsible for cleaning the instruments, trays and carts. Performs decontamination duties without direction. Has the ability to control the workflow in the Decontamination area.
6. Records all processed loads and keeps accurate records. Accurately enters information into record books required to track processed loads. Records Biological indicators into required logs and places Biological indicators into the proper incubator to be processed. Removes Biological indicators after proper time period and accurately records outcome of testing.
7. Responsible for SPD department stock. Puts away supplies in the SPD department and rotates stock as needed. Duties are performed with reasonable speed and definite accuracy.
8. Responsible for the daily operations of the business unit in the Supervisor's absence. Demonstrates ability to take charge and appropriately assigns team members in the interest of business unit and ultimately patient care.
9. Responsible for the daily operations of the business unit in the Coordinator's and/or Supervisor's absence. (Technicians with charge responsibilities.) * Responsible for maintaining adequate supply levels in sterile storage area, rotating stock as appropriate pulling case carts for the daily surgical schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
* Cleans, decontaminates, assembles, and disinfects scope trays and equipment following established tray lists and manufactures recommendations.
* Maintains communication with customers and departments regarding requests and delivery of sterile supplies.
* Promotes best practice by demonstrating a commitment to quality patient care.
* Performs assigned duties to maintain unit in a state of survey readiness and maintain quality initiatives. For example quality control measures, emergency equipment checks, and department cleanliness.
* Uses the computerized instrument tracking system in the performance of assigned duties, obtaining instrument count sheets, obtaining special handling instructions for instrumentation documenting sterilization loads, and other assigned tasks.
* Adheres to unit programs to support patient care such as maintaining a quiet environment and customer service.
* Efficient and punctual distribution of case carts, equipment, and stat supplies to the OR and Maintain sterility and or cleanliness according to hospital protocol.
* Maintain accurate log for equipment out for repair.
* Tests operational efficiency of Instrumentation prior to reprocessing and reports problems to appropriate leadership.
* Maintains a clean and orderly central processing area (e.g. shelves, counters, equipment).
* May assist with teaching of new hires and work as resource person for other staff as well as other units in hospital.
* Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

36 to 40 hours weekly
Shift schedule is 4 to 5 days per week, including at least 1 weekend day each week
Shifts are scheduled in advance as often as possible across the Depot Team, and will include weekends (will include opportunities to provide coverage beyond normally scheduled hours as available)
Shift hours can start as early as 7am and generally end between 7pm and 9pm on weekdays, and start as early as 8am and end between 6pm to 8pm on weekends and holidays, (subject to changes as required by the hospital customer)

What Depot Operations contributes to VelocareTM
Velocare relies on small-format facilities to operate our distributed supply chain solution and this role is responsible for performing and controlling a combination of manual and automated actions necessary for receiving, storage, and delivery of products to the customer location. Responsibilities
Deliver medical equipment using company transit van (non-CDL) to hospital customer locations (primarily the home of the hospital patient), and notify delivery status
Show empathy and compassion for customers/patients in every situation
Load and unload packages and products from vehicles to the home
Perform minor technical installation and de-installation in the home, and will troubleshoot technology in the home as the customer requires
Maintain vehicles in proper working condition, proper cleanliness, minor maintenance tasks, and may perform minor roadside repairs
Utilize handheld tablets for navigation and reporting status changes and inventory updates
Will hold self and associates accountable for conducting work in a safe manner, and assist in ensuring that depot personnel have safe, efficient equipment and vehicles to perform delivery functions and provide support for a culture that strives toward continuous improvement in operations and in Environmental, Health and Safety
Ensure quality service is provided to the customers and ensure prompt follow-through on customer correspondence, complaints and inquiries related to shipment of medical products and stock-on-hand
Conduct equipment cleaning procedures at the Depot as volume demands require on various durable medical equipment
Will satisfactorily complete training and be responsible for Cardinal Health compliance and regulations concerning OSHA, DEA, FDA, State and local authorities
Support and contribute in the development and implementation of innovative modifications to processes in order to improve the quality of service to our customers
Will comply with vaccinations and background checks as required by the hospital customer
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Must hold a valid driver's license and have a good driving record
Prior delivery driving experience a plus
Ability to lift containers weighing up to 75 pounds
Comfortable driving in all weather conditions during day or night hours
Ability to sit, stand, be mobile and operate a vehicle for extended periods of time
Strong customer service and communication skills
Flexibility to work various shifts or overtime as needed
Ability to use computers and tablets, and conduct minor technology installation and troubleshooting
Healthcare experience beneficial

Confidential Medical Practice located in Mount Laurel NJ is looking to add an experience Endoscopy Technician to their team.
Monday - Friday 6:30AM - 2:30PM.
Under guidance and/or direction of an RN or physician, assists in nursing care and preparation of endoscopy patients by performance of routine and delegated duties according to standards and policies of the medical practice.
Duties Include:
Maintain inventories of endoscopic equipment and supplies.
Perform safety check to verify proper equipment functioning.
Prepare suites or room according to endoscopic procedure requirements.
Clean, disinfect, or calibrates scopes or other endoscopic instruments according to manufacturer recommendations and facility standards.
Maintain or repair endoscopic equipment.
Position or transport patients in accordance with instructions from medical personnel.
Assist physicians or registered nurses in the conduct or endoscopic procedures.
Attend in-service training to validate or refresh basic professional skills.
Collect specimens from patients using standard medical procedures.
Conduct in - service training sessions to disseminate information regarding equipment or instruments.
Keep abreast of developments in endoscopy by participating in professional organizations and/or conferences.
Education Requirements:
High School or GED Equivalent is required
Certified Surgical Tech or Endoscopy Tech required
Associates Degree in Nursing or health sciences is preferred
At least one year of experience in a GI or multi- specialty surgery environment with working knowledge and proficiency in the use of endoscopy equipment. Ambulatory setting experience preferred.
