As a Repair Technician you will be responsible for ensuring surgical instruments are sharpened and working properly so surgeons can focus on providing the best care for their patients. STERIS offers a variety of repair solutions to meet the needs of the Customer including onsite mobile repair services, in house repair lab services, or one of five national repair centers. NOTE: This is a remote based traveling position where you would spend majority of your time traveling nationally and internationally. The territories supported are as follows: Ohio, Wisconsin, Florida, California, Nevada, Montana, Hawaii, Alaska, Caymen Islands, Germany, and Japan. This position is up to 100% travel during the week and can require overnights. The maximum time away from home is up to 2 weeks, primarily for long trips or international travel. When not traveling, this role will report to a facility in Stow, OH. What you will do as a Repair Technician * Perform basic to intermediate inspection and repairs on surgical instrumentation using grinding wheels, buffing wheels, various hand and power tools, soldering, etc. Complexity of repairs and level of intricacy will vary. Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail and willingness to learn will help you be successful in this role. * You will work in the field on a mobile repair truck, inside a repair lab or inside a hospital, based on the needs of the Customer within the assigned territory. You must be able to sit/stand for an extended period of time. If assigned to a truck, you must be comfortable working in a small mobile workspace with others. * While primarily working inside a mobile repair truck, frequent trips inside the hospital are required. Weather conditions may vary. * Provide support various locations within assigned territory depending on the service agreements, Customer needs, and staffing levels. The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed Required * High School Diploma or GED * 3+ years of work experience, including at least 1 year of relevant experience*, or 1 year of experience at STERIS.
