Prior to joining CB&I, he had a 29-year career in public accounting, primarily focused on serving public companies in the manufacturing and construction industry. From 2002 to 2006, Ballschmiede served as a partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP. From 1977 to 2002, he was employed by Arthur Andersen, LLP, becoming a partner in its audit division in 1989. Since April 2016, Ballschmiede has served as a director of the general partner of Rose Rock Midstream, L.P., a publicly traded master limited partnership and subsidiary of SemGroup formed to own, operate, develop, and acquire a diversified portfolio of midstream energy assets. Ballschmiede graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and is a certified public accountant. Ballschmiede provides the Board with extensive accounting and financial expertise gained from service as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sterling and CB&I and his prior experience as a partner of Deloitte & Touche LLP and Arthur Andersen, LLP. His experience and knowledge make him a valuable contributor of financial, accounting and risk management expertise to the Board. Ballschmiede qualifies as an “audit committee financial expert” as defined by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
