Performing basic welding activities to effect repairs on facilities and equipment. Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings gears and other equipment parts in accordance with work procedures and technical manual. Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System. The Electrician will be accountable for the efficient operation of all the electrical-related equipment and instrumentation throughout the facility, both inside and outside of the building. Ensure the systematic review of all line, processes, and utilities that are critical to the business and those where failure can have an unacceptable impact on safety, personnel safety, food safety, environment, or compliance with the law. · Monitor plant/equipment trends to ensure best possible operation and reduction of planned/unplanned downtime. · Propose and monitor key performance indicators in accordance with the Best Maintenance Practices. · Facilitate the evolution/refinement of Maintenance activities to minimize planned and unplanned downtime (PM's, changeovers, etc.). · Supervisory Responsibilities · Ensure the implementation of all repairs/modifications resulting from Gap assessments, plant audits, and notifications are executed on time and offer a high-quality workmanship. · Ensure that the job planning, material and services planning is accurate and effective. · Ensure that the equipment history, damage code and root cause analysis are completed correctly. · Evaluate the performance of team members and provide periodic feedback to ensure development. · Communication · Share maintenance-related best practices across all of Eddy Packing's maintenance personnel via Leadership, training guides, etc. · Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and Plant Operations to ensure customer needs are met. · Encourage close team work between all functions (Engineering, Productions, Quality Management, etc.). · Conduct regular inspections of plant to seek out potential problems and to solicit operator feedback. · Consolidate and analyze the factory M&R budgets, drive value-added and sustainable improvements. · Manage the Maintenance Parts store, scheduled Work Orders, labor hour allocation and the equipment Bill of Material (BOM). · Support and back-fill the roll-out and sustainability of TPM-PM Pillar across all of Eddy Packing's Departments. · Assures compliance with government regulatory agencies. · Other duties as assigned. Individual assists the Maintenance Manager with supervising the maintenance staff and assists with planning and the distribution of work in the department. This person ensures that the equipment is being maintained to keep Down Time to a minimum. This position entails a high degree of professionalism, independent judgment and the overall ability to work well with others. The supervisor is responsible to implement, and make sure all procedures/policies are followed. The Supervisor must assist the department as a management team player to be a leader in efficiency, accountability standards and continuous improvement concepts. DUTIES Actively supports the Maintenance staff. Looks for and makes recommendation for improvement. Participates in weekly coordination meetings to ensure that each weeks schedule activities have the right priority. Ensures that good housekeeping and safe work practices are followed. Must perform all job functions with honesty and professionalism. Must interact with coworkers fairly and with impartiality. Must read the production schedule to plan the staff work. Prioritize the work when required. Review daily production schedule to plan maintenance work. Prepare required paperwork or reports for major repairs, topics. Recognizes good work performed by employees. Establish work schedules for maintenance personnel for the most efficient and economical methods in handling maintenance and repair requests. Ensure al equipment is operating in normal condition. Assign work orders to maintenance personnel. Enforce accuracy of maintenance work, and confirm the completion of the work. Enforce company safety rules, procedures and GMP guidelines. Make sure all preventative maintenance records and maintenance work is kept up in the MP2 system. Maintain a clean and orderly maintenance area, Ensure sanitation rules are followed. Supervise and assist special projects. Maintain knowledge of related to maintenance matters. Ensure there is communication between shifts on any maintenance related issues. Ensure the shift has coverage in regards to staff. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma, GED or vocational training, and five (5) or more years of maintenance related experience. A minimum of 3 years of maintenance supervisory experience. Knowledge of food processing/manufacturing machine and equipment. Experience in preventive maintenance program both in installation and upkeep. PLC's, electrical/electronic skills and over4all maintenance troubleshooting ability. Strong manufacturing background with specific knowledge of Bakery operations. Strong electrical background. PLC background required. Able to read, and understand schematics. Knowledge of operation, repair and maintenance of plant equipment. Able to document personnel records. Able to follow project time lines. Strong background in Lock Out Tag Out process. Welding and or fabricating background. Strong background in Preventive Maintenance. Ability to lead people. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Team Player. Self-reliant and able to lead change.
