Pros of working at Steuben Foods

Benefits are good. Thats about it at this time. The Owner and his family have invested alot of money over past 10 years as this company is a generational family business.

Cons of working at Steuben Foods

Executives along for ride, non existent or completely detached from operations. Directors clinging to make retirement while working in complete disarray with no collective direction. Operations inward worse. Owner invests millions to be floundered as project managers have no skill education or experience in these fields, seems they enjoy vip parking free trips to whatver country the potential equipment is used in with 0 process of project manag being performed, ie priority free vacation on owners checkbook. Its a shame really as the engineer named Taggart retired mid 2010s so did legitimate improvements. Safety and hazmat just stopped sometime, most hired after 2020 have no clue the ammonia, carcinogens, corrosive and burn hazards are feet away. We used to meet multiple times a year to teach everybody potential life ending hazards so everybody goes home safe. There was an instance where somebody was burnt head to toe hospitalized for awhile when a drunk manager opened a hot pressurized pipe, somehow managers (still there) hid and lied about drunk manager so he wasnt toxicology tested and didnt say who caused accident for a couple months when the injured guy was out of hospital talking to Steuben. ( same manager fired 2 years later for guess what, drinking on job) operations management cared more about getting themselves In trouble for allowing him drunk for months before accident. Guy came in drunk for 2 more years before someone used plant pa system to yell out so and so is drunk. No hiding that from VP. Impossible to move up from Blue Collar to white or even to better paying blue collar. The white collar jobs are filled with directors + vp family leading to 300+ demoralized clock punchers in a dead end job. Its literally the Titanic post iceberg.
