The Clinic Manager's primary responsibility is to manage the day-to-day operations of the clinic and to directly supervise and provide direction to all STGi staff, ensuring that professional clinical services are delivered in accordance with VA standards of care. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Supervise support staff in delivery of care to patients. • Lead and participate in PACT team huddles. • Engage and retain clinic staff to promote a positive work environment. • Hold regular staff meetings to ensure effective communication of critical information. • Ensure patient visit quality metrics align with STGi and VA standards and goals. • Monitor and manage staff timesheets for accuracy and compliance. • Order and maintain inventory of medical and administrative supplies for the clinic. • Support, counsel, and address issues with staff members as needed to maintain performance and morale. • Ensure the clinic is adequately staffed for quality care delivery and the promotion of continuity of care between the VAMC and the clinic. • Maintain universal precautions and infection control practices. • Supervise medical assistants and/or licensed practical nurses who obtain initial information from patients (i.e.: vital signs, symptoms, and complaints) through interviewing patients and reviewing records. • Provide smooth and timely flow of patients in accordance with the VA access standards and triage protocol. • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and assist during respiratory and cardiac arrest procedures. • Document all pertinent patient information in their medical records and Veteran Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) to demonstrate quality care delivery and promote continuity of care. • Keep the VISTA clinic reminder tracking system current for each enrolled patient. • Assist in scheduling patients for initial and follow-up appointments in accordance to the VA access standards and the patient's medical necessity. • Keep patient informed regarding their plan of care, including lab and diagnostic test results as needed. • Provide health materials, resources and education to patients and their families for informational purposes according to need and learning capacity. • Assist the providers, as required, in ensuring all patient information on electronic encounter documentation is complete and accurate. • Participate in the ongoing Performance Improvement Program between its Subcontractor(s) and the VAMC. • Ensure that all required reports, clinical and administrative documentation is completed in an accurate, timely and complete fashion. • Participate in the management of day to day CBOC operations. • Comply with all federal, state, local, Joint Commission Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Veteran Affairs, Subcontractor safety and operational regulations, directives and standards. • Maintain confidentiality of all information and supporting patients' privacy, rights, and safety. • Perform other work-related duties as assigned. • List essential functions in order of most essential to least essential. Required Skills REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: • Must have exceptional diplomatic communication skills and experience in handling difficult customer situations. • Preferred one to three years' experience as a clinic manager in a related area of patient care i.e. Family Practice/Adult Practice/Women's Health. • Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task. • Proven track record in advanced high level customer service and follow through a plus. • Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in New York. • Retain current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN). • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and computer skills including experience with electronic medical records systems.

The primary purpose of this position is to collaborate with the Clinic Manager and/or Project Manager's assigned clinic in serving as the Patient Relations Specialist, who represents the interest of the Veteran patients in all areas of the clinic and coordinate care with the Medical Center and Stakeholders. The position requires an understanding of the programs, processes and procedures of the clinic and relationships of various services. The position is directly linked to Customer Service and Performance Excellence program initiatives. The general duties of the Assistant Clinic Manager are to support the Clinic Manager in the day-to-day activities of the clinic. The general duty of the Phlebotomist-LPN is to provide phlebotomy services as well as administrative/clerical support for the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Perform a full range of phlebotomist duties to include proper venipuncture and finger-stick and heel-stick procedures using appropriate techniques, and perform set-up and completion of special test-related phlebotomy procedures utilizing appropriate techniques. Ensure that all aspects of patient accessioning, specimen collection, processing, and distribution are performed properly. • Conduct patient in-processing prior to specimen collection, including review of paperwork accompanying patients and cordial guidance and assistance. • Assemble equipment, such as tourniquet, needles, and disposable containers for needles, blood collection devices, gauze, cotton, and alcohol on work tray, according to requirements for specified tests or procedures. • Verify or record identity of patient or donor and converses with patient or donor to allay fear of procedure and conduct interviews, take vital signs, and draw and test blood samples to screen donors at blood bank. • If applicable, provide technical oversight and training to ensure that all invasive procedures (venipuncture, capillary puncture, clotting time, etc.) performed in the laboratory are done in the safest, most sanitary, and expeditious manner, with minimal discomfort for the patient. • Perform phlebotomy-related administrative and clerical procedures of the Front Desk Section of the lab and fully document all samples obtained per the laboratory's standard operating procedures; maintain the supply inventory and cleanliness of the front desk and phlebotomy area. • Perform non-phlebotomy-related administrative and clerical support in various areas of the clinic as needed (front desk, exam rooms, Telehealth, etc.). • Provide instruction on patient centered specimen collection (24-hour urine, occult blood testing, semen analysis, etc.) and special requirements necessary for laboratory-collected specimens (fasting requirements, special diets, etc.). • Demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of phlebotomy and collection of adequate clinical specimens and utilize “age-specific” techniques to obtain specimens from infants and the elderly, if applicable. • Demonstrate knowledge of the type and severity of patient reactions, including, but not limited to, syncope, vomiting, and unconsciousness and the procedures for such instances.
