Sticky Fingers company history timeline

1992

Wyman retired in 1992 and was replaced on tour by Daryl Jones, formerly a bassist for Miles Davis and Sting, and in the studio by a variety of guest musicians.

1997

With the rise of Latin music, NARAS created LARAS in 1997.

2000

The first Latin Grammy Awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles in 2000, with award winners including Shakira and Carlos Santana.

2005

More recently, in the wake of the group’s well-received album A Bigger Bang (2005), director Martin Scorsese, long a fan of the group, focused less on the spectacle of a Stones’ concert and more on the band as performers.

2006

In 2006, Charlottesville-based Quad-C Management bought into the company, took over management, and expanded the brand.

2008

The result, Shine a Light (2008), met with critical acclaim and confirmed that the Rolling Stones were still a major presence in the rock scene of the 21st century.

2009

Pleasant, South Carolina, USA. In the year 2010, the Wilmington, NC location was permanently closed. As a result of the Great Recession, in the year 2009, the company announced to close four Sticky Fingers restaurants and their headquarters relocated to Coleman Boulevard located in Mt.

2011

In 2011 NARAS radically restructured the Grammy category system and reduced the total number of awards from 109 to 78.

2012

In 2012 the band celebrated its 50th anniversary with concerts in England and the United States.

2016

In 2016, Sticky Fingers stepped out of the clutches of the banks, and Walldorf returned to help direct Sticky Fingers back to its former greatness.

After The Rolling Stones surprised the music world in the fall of 2016 by releasing their first album in eleven years – a collection of blues covers that hearken to their earlier days – their legendary producer Don Was wrote, “Blues is, for the Stones, the fountainhead of everything they do.

2019

As of the year 2019, the former space of Sticky Fingers Wilmington location is now a tunnel car wash called Splash N Dash.
