Proper securing of freight with airbags and cardboard, as well as using straps, is crucial to prevent damage during transport. The dock worker position directly impacts the reliability of deliveries to customers. Primary Responsibilities + Load and unload freight on trailers using a motorized forklift, pallet jack or manually in compliance with state and federal DOT guidelines. Use various loading techniques, such as loading tight or cross loading. + Transport self and/or freight continuously throughout the service center on non-forgiving surfaces. + Utilize Dock Yard Management System to consistently monitor freight shipment locations throughout the service center. + Read and interpret shipping labels. Shift - 7am - 3:30pm; Monday - Friday Responsibilities: Count and label incoming materials and place them into inventory accordingly Identify and locate the correct products required during the kitting process Create and deliver material kits from inventory to support the production floor Use ERP system to maintain accurate records of material movements Perform inventory cycle counts Collaborate with internal departments to locate missing items or return damaged items Use a forklift, pallet jack, and other material handling equipment to move materials Requirements: 1 year experience with material handling preferred Self-motivated, goal-oriented, interpersonal, and collaboration skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint Must be able to lift 50+ pounds Experience using ERP software is a plus but not required Viridi Parente is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace. Job Description Performs a combination of tasks including but not limited to receiving, filling, shipping, and inspecting orders accurately and in a timely manner; efficiently and safely loads, unloads, and conveys materials. Job Responsibilities: Receives, locates, and transfers materials accurately and in a timely manner. Opens containers utilizing hand tools as needed; counts and weighs materials and records information. Identifies damaged materials and records material shortages. Loads and unloads materials onto and from a variety of containers including but not limited to trucks, conveyors, racks, pallets, and/or trays; utilizes appropriate tools to accomplish task. Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, and/or elevator. Assists machine operators as needed by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist. Stacks and assembles materials. Maintains a safe, clean working environment. Participates in quality improvement efforts. Operates forklifts and overhead cranes. Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Required Qualifications: One to two years related experience or equivalent. Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods. Forklift certified. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
