Responsibilities
As a Dock Worker, you will load and unload freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner. Although DFL Dock Workers do not work inside a warehouse, you must maximize space when loading freight.
Complete pre and post trip inspections on all dock equipment
Properly document all freight control processes
Participate in Dayton Freight's training and improvement programs
Be available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts and/or assignments

You will operate a multidirectional lift or Hyundai, counter balance lift to pick loose material orders. * Must be able to lift up to 101lbs at one time occasionally. Material Associates will be off forklift more than on, lifting 25-50 lbs on a regular basis. Material Handlers will be on a forklift 90% of the time with less physical lifting required.
* Must detail orientated and precise and operate a forklift in tight quarters in a full yard
* Operate forklifts in safe manner.
* Prior forklift certification preferred.
* Attention to detail and able to load materials in a cart in preparation for loader position to load onto flatbed trailers for safe transport.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MATERIAL ASSOCIATE, MATERIAL HANDLER OR LOADER POSITION
You will operate a multidirectional lift or Hyundai, counter balance lift to pick loose material orders. Must be able to operate lift in tight quarters, maneuvering in various locations throughout the 50+ acre site. Loose material includes lumber, panels, hardware, engineered wood products (EWP) and other products as the warehouse manager assigns. This position may also unloads incoming trucks and railcars and other duties as assigned by the warehouse manager. This person will be assigned areas of responsibility and is responsible for the neat organization and cleanliness of these areas.
All Shifts are Monday - Friday with NO WEEKENDS
1stShift: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM - Starting Pay $20/Hour
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1-3 years of forklift experience preferred.
Must be able to lift up to 101lbs at one time occasionally. Material Associates will be off forklift more than on, lifting 25-50 lbs on a regular basis. Material Handlers will be on a forklift 90% of the time with less physical lifting required.
Must detail orientated and precise and operate a forklift in tight quarters in a full yard
Operate forklifts in safe manner.
Prior forklift certification preferred.
Attention to detail and able to load materials in a cart in preparation for loader position to load onto flatbed trailers for safe transport.
Efficiently organizes and maintains the storage area.
Accurately load all products listed on load sheet documents.
Accurately records lumber taken to the plant inside racks and scans all items picked in carts.
Ensure that products are damage free.
Assists in other warehouse functions as needed.
Additional Functions
Ensure all work is performed safely.
Work in other areas or projects as assigned.
Any other duties assigned by Warehouse Manager.

We are currently looking for a Material Handler to join the Mittera family where ideas are valued, and internal mobility is promoted! In our production facilities, Material Handlers find products on shelves, wrap or package them appropriately, and place them on delivery trucks; they may also take products off of trucks and put them on shelves. Thanks to our material handlers, customer orders can be fulfilled and moved quickly. This individual will need to be versatile and also fill the needs of a 3rd Press Assistant as our Press schedule requires. This will be a 3rd shift position 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks
* Reads and understands the job ticket and other special instructions before beginning the assigned job
* Obtains and records accurate counts of finished products, goods, and materials to be shipped and for those received
* Packs materials in a manner that will ensure delivery without damage, following job jacket and/or customer packing specifications
* Identifies contents and number of pieces of shipments on all boxes, cartons, or skids, using proper labeling methods
* Checks accuracy of all shipping and receiving documents
* Utilizing the shipping system to process shipments, including packages and skids
* Scheduling delivery trucks for on-time shipments
* Prepare the stacking area (skids, cardboard and boxes).
* Webbing up the Press.
* Hanging and removing plates.
* Start-up - Clearing waste from production folder.
* Webbing angle bars.
* Stacking product on the skid accurately according to the load tag ticket.
* Quality checks on running product.
* Cleaning the press - light clean (decks, floors and parts).
* Cleaning the press - medium clean (guards, water form, etc.).

Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities
* High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
* 1 - 3 years of previous material management experience preferred
* Safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and any other lift equipment required for the job (following appropriate training)
* Full comprehension in reading work instructions and business memos
* Effective communications skills with all levels within the organization
* Ability to use basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements and critical thinking, to solve practical problems
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
* Must have the ability to work effectively in stressful situations and meet stringent deadlines
