Explain what the levers do, check lights, once the engine is turned on, check accelerator, brakes (parking/service), Steering operation, drive controls, Raise, tilt, side shift, visually check all belts, horn/lights, hour meter, low fuel light, high temperature light. Follow all directions, Dave will tell tester to back up in a straight line, no curvature, stop at all intersections and honk horn (will not be told to), be a foot in front of containers to stack raise forks, insert into holes, lift containers up, back up a bit, stop, drop the forks to about 6 inches, drive backwards, check both sides of lift to ensure no obstructions and potential accidents, pull back forward, and square off with container stack, restack containers, make sure all sides are locked in and level, remove forks, back up, drop forks, level them, return to parking spot. If unable to make it to work call ************ prior to your shift. Potential hazard exposures may include; extreme temperatures, dust, work area will have forklift and material handling items in area, cuts or abrasions from material handling, slip and trip hazards.
