Various transportation assets are to be extracted and attributed from highway photolog imagery collected with WisDOT's pavement survey vans using both semi-automated and manual methods. Quality control procedures include review of machine learning algorithm outputs to identify training imagery for model development and quality assurance of asset deliverables to suit business area needs. Office work requires general computer skills and long periods of sitting and working at a computer station are typical. Candidates should have the ability to learn to use proprietary software associated with WisDOT's Pavement Survey Vans and familiarity with ESRI Geographic Information Systems is desirable. Developing asset reports and shapefiles for managing infrastructure elements within the highway right-of-way will aid the department with tracking various assets and their relative attributes and condition to support highway project scoping.
