Role Summary:
The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for inventory-related functions; this includes generating purchase requestions and cycle counts, following up on delivery of parts, scheduling orders to meet customer request dates, and leading the morning accountability meetings. The Inventory Control Clerk will work with a cross-functional team to ensure parts arrive at the facility just in time (JIT).
Responsibilities Include:
Communicate on the status of orders and assist in tracking shipments until delivery is completed. Ensure changes in order status are communicated promptly and assist in troubleshooting orders to maintain on-time delivery.
Work independently, manage time effectively, and be well organized to handle a high-volume workload.
Reconcile cycle counts
Assigning and editing stock locations
Apply in-depth proficiency in running all inventory reports in support of daily operations as required.
Closely monitor PO due dates and expedite the status of PO deliveries.
Maintain and replenish stocks for consumables.
Most of the workload is ordering parts from other internal facilities or outside vendors and creating production orders for parts to be manufactured.
Requirements:
HS Diploma / GED and 3-5 years relevant experience
SAP experience
Previous warehouse experience including the dispatch and receipt of goods.
Excellent communication skills.
Good computer skills.
Experience in inventory order entry and processing and handling.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
SAP (S4Hana) knowledge
Experience in a manufacturing environment

Duties

Assists with the accountability, security, and record keeping of material inventory contained in the warehouse by ensuring information entry is correct into the inventory software system.
Delivers and retrieves materials and supplies to and from NEU construction sites, including off-road situations.

Assists with the annual physical inventory, random material counts, and the research of material accounting questions.
Possesses a working knowledge of personal protective equipment used in the utility, utilizes PPE per utility standards and procedures, and follows warehouse procedures for the handling of potentially hazardous material.
Cleans, maintains, and secures warehouse and storage yard. Maintains grounds around the warehouse (including snow removal).
Maintains and repairs equipment and tools. Cleans and performs routine checks of vehicles.
Performs locates of underground facilities. Attends training (and attends related refresher training) to be able to consistently, efficiently, and competently perform locates of underground facilities.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
At least twelve (12) months professional experience with general warehouse or industrial parts stocking experience such as that acquired at a hardware company, lumber yard, or industrial parts handler/supplier.
At least six (6) months forklift or similar equipment experience. Six (6) months experience with a computerized inventory system.
Computer and keyboard proficiency, plus proven/demonstrated skills in attention-to-detail in a fast-paced environment.
A high school diploma or equivalent.
A strong mathematical aptitude.
A valid State of Illinois Class D driver's license.
Preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office products and/or inventory/warehousing applications (including the transfer of digital data from bar code scanners).
Experience with and/or knowledge of material used in an electric and/or water utility.
