Job Summary:
The Stockroom Supervisor is responsible for the complete operations of the stockroom. In addition, provide leadership and direction for immediate staff and entire store concerning stockroom functions. Maintains a positive company image by being courteous and professional in all situations with customers and employees.
Essential Job Functions:- Train and develop stockroom associates
- Delegate through others…Set an example for the department
- Receive new merchandise
- Process new merchandise
- Total contents of truck and report results to corporate controller
- Prepare transfers and return to vendor merchandise for transport
- Prepare and process mis-mates
- Clean and repair minor damage to merchandise and return to the sales floor
- Record and send out damage goods
- Operate PC and supporting equipment
- Organize and maintain back stock merchandise, fixtures, and hangers
- Maintain clean, neat, and organized work environment
- Communicate with associates, store management and corporate officials
- Motivate associates to maximize performance
- Evaluate employee performance
- Operate a cash register
- Uphold company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties assigned by management
Special abilities, required skills, or education needed to perform the essential job functions: High School diploma and stockroom (supervision) experience preferred.
Physical demands of the job: Bending, stooping, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and standing for long periods of time.
OSHA Standards: This job is classified as a category “3” for being at risk or exposure to HIV, hepatitis, and other infectious diseases.
