Stoneridge company history timeline
Since 1965, Stoneridge has designed and manufactured advanced, award-winning technologies for vehicle OEMs, including driveline and transmission actuation systems, vision systems, emissions control systems, safety systems, security and monitoring systems and much more.
The Tachograph Market really opened in the early 1970’s when the UK became a member of the EEC. There was a huge potential market for Veeder-Root as in order to meet European requirements, all new and existing commercial vehicles had to be fitted with a tachograph.
With its expertise in counting mechanisms, they developed and launched the “1100” Mechanical Tachograph in 1975; the company also produced transmission cables and adaptor gearboxes which were required to fit this particular tachograph into vehicles.
In the late 1980’s there was a change of ownership of Veeder-Root in the USA, which initiated a worldwide rationalisation of the company’s product range.
Hartman began his career at Coopers & Lybrand LLP in 1990.
Prior to that, Mitchell served in roles of increasing responsibility since joining Stoneridge in 1990.
There were further legislative changes in the late 1990’s in anticipation of the introduction of the digital tachograph legislation, and the tachograph was remodelled.
Prior to that, Hartman was Stoneridge’s director of accounting from 1996.
PST Electronics had formerly been a Stoneridge joint venture since 1997.
Jeffrey Draime has served as a director since 2005.
Kim Korth has served as a director since 2006.
Paul Schlather has served as a director since 2009.
In 2009, Stoneridge launched OPTAC3; a European analysis solution and complex software package which provides analysis against Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive legislation for both analogue and digital data.
Prior to that, she served as the director of global business solutions from 2011.
George Mayes has served as a director since 2012.
Korth has served as president and chief executive officer of Dickten Masch Plastics, LLC, a thermoplastics and thermoset manufacturer, and as the president and chief executive officer of TECHNIPLASTM, a privately held group of plastics-focused manufacturing businesses, since 2012.
He has served as a director since May 2015.
He joined the company in 2015 and previously served as chief operating officer.
Robert Hartman has served as chief accounting officer since 2016.
In May 2017, Stoneridge acquires 100% of PST Eletrônica LTDA (“PST”), a Brazil-based electronic system provider focused on security, infotainment and accessories primarily for the automotive and motorcycle markets.
Caetano Ferraiolo was appointed to president of the Stoneridge Brazil Division in June 2017.
Benedict previously served as Stoneridge’s director of legal since November 2017.
He previously joined Stoneridge as chief technology officer, a new position for the Company, in 2018.
Susan Benedict was appointed chief human resources officer (CHRO) and assistant general counsel – labor and employment in June 2019.
