    Job Description ACCOUNTABILITY The Night Audit is a critical process designed to verify all account postings and balances. As a night auditor, it is expected you make guest satisfaction always a priority. Night Auditors are entrusted with the responsibility of accurately posting and reconciling charges, settlements, and files for rooms and credit card transactions. They also ensure the seamless reset of systems for the next day's operations. This role demands a high degree of self-reliance, as results are typically achieved independently. The primary focus of this job is on consistently delivering timely, precise, and high-quality outcomes. REPORTS TO AND IS SERVED BY: Front Office Manager & Assistant General Manager/General Manager FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt WHAT TO EXPECT Guest Check-In and Check-Out: Account Verification: Perform a detailed review and verification of all financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in account postings and balances. Settlement Processing: Post and balance room charges, credit card settlements, and other financial transactions. Verify and correct any discrepancies. Report Generation: Generate and distribute daily financial reports, including the daily revenue report and occupancy report. Ensure that all records are complete and accurate. File Maintenance: Maintain and organize accounting records, ensuring they are up-to-date and readily accessible for reference or audit purposes. System Reset: Execute the necessary procedures to reset and prepare the hotel's computer systems for the next day's operations. Guest Check-Ins and Check-Outs: Assist with guest arrivals and departures, including the check-in and check-out processes, room assignments, and providing information about the hotel's amenities and services. Guest Service: Provide excellent customer service, including addressing guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally. Assist with special requests and accommodate guest needs to the best of your ability. Reservation Handling: Manage reservations, including booking, modifications, and cancellations. Ensure that reservations are accurate and up-to-date. Security Monitoring: Maintain a vigilant watch on security systems and cameras, reporting any unusual activity or security concerns to appropriate personnel. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations and guest needs during the overnight hours, following established safety and security protocols. Cash Handling: Handle cash and credit card transactions, process payments, and maintain accurate financial records. Reconcile cash and report any discrepancies. Foundational Skills and Qualities: Strong organizational skills to manage tasks and prioritize work. Good physical stamina and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending.
