I was 15 when I got the job (that's the youngest that they hire). I have not considered Stop & Shop as a full time career (at least at my local Stop & Shop) because I do not like my manager and I will tell you why in a minute. One "horror story" is when a customer ordered (literally) 70 bananas. Then, she took out about 50 coupons to pay for them. She ended up saving about $100 but the customers behind her were pissed because of how long it took to scan the coupons. I *** hate my manager. The main reason is when she gave me my locker. In the locker (when I first opened it) was someone else's shirt, pants, hat, lint remover, old newspaper, and a plate with a rooster on it. I talked to her about it and she didnt do anything and told me to handle it. I burned the clothes, broke the plate, and threw away the lint remover.
Union, safe space environment, great communication, great problem solving being able to handle unique situations that help customer satisfaction
limited in positions, moving up in career is difficult not alot of variety in job positions
union protection, health benefit's and getting to meet new people daily
the leadership team is very organized smart individuals that perform their job very well and help other co workers exceed at performing the job
Being more open to career growth, and having more stations or variety for other workers trying to be versatile at the job,
It starts with application than acceptance, you fill out your background check wait for call afterword's for an interview the process is straight forward and informed
Better than average, they keep a track of mistakes and fix it immediately with no hesitation
very diverse no problem with race or religion they have a very balance work environment open to culture
fulfillment getting the job done efficiently, at the end of the day accomplishment and making sure i can serve at my highest
Every day is different, and that permits varying levels of employee and customer interactions for me to recognize, solve, and implement solutions for best in class service on a managerial level. There are daily changing variables that allow me to problem solve in an efficient and creative manner. I am always able to showcase my abilities to multitask, prioritize, delegate, communicate, and manage a diverse team across multiple departments.
The pace of upwards progression and accountability are not up to the standards I believe they should be at. Other than that, the pay is too low for my daily workload, skill set and attributions towards daily business succes. The pay is not comparable to local competitors in the region.
I have better than average health care coverage and company contributions to HSA's and 401k's.
I agree. But I really like the other cashiers that I work with. They are all down to earth and easy to talk to.

Define "good." I told the story about my first locker in another post, but other than that I'm treated fine. I can not disclose my location because I do not want to be fired :P but no I do not live in MA.
