Key Responsibilities
Supervisory
Leads the foremen and crews in their professional development through mentoring, teaching, training, coaching, and periodic performance reviews.
Increases the effectiveness and efficiency of the foremen and crews by providing all the inputs necessary to allow high-quality work assignments and work zones to be created for each crew.
Site Leadership
Responsible for the day-to-day onsite management of projects.
Ensures that all logistical support is completed timely so the foremen can concentrate on the daily crew production planning, execution, and improvement.
Develops a complete understanding of the plans and specifications, including how the company's and subcontractors' work intertwines.

Qualifications:
4-year technical degree, a 2-year technical degree with 2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of experience and training required. 4-year technical degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related study preferred.
5+ years of commercial general contracting experience.

Position Overview:
As the Billing Specialist, you'll coordinate billing processes, help manage project-related documentation, and provide administrative support to construction management teams. You'll work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure timely, accurate billing and project setup, while maintaining compliance with contract and regulatory requirements.

Summary of Duties:
Accurately enter monthly billing information into the billing system, including manual billing and stored material tracking.
Partner with project managers to gather the necessary billing documentation and ensure all billing-related tasks are completed, including preparing and submitting invoices.
Process billing for work orders using current labor rates; determine taxability and run job cost reports including material, subcontractor, labor, labor burden, and other costs.
Review and process all AIA change orders from the architect; maintain records of approved, rejected, and pending non-AIA change orders.
Enter owner change orders and internal change orders into the shared drive, ensuring all necessary documentation in provided.
Set up new projects, including schedule of values, billing templates, and project file folders.
Close out completed projects by organizing billing file folders by year.
Complete appropriate paperwork for jobs and work orders in Nebraska and South Dakota, in accordance with regional requirements.
Prepare and send DocuSign requests for subcontracts, change orders, and purchase orders.
Follow up on outstanding signatures; address alterations as needed.
Generate reports related to DocuSign activity and change orders.
Assist with setting up projects in ISQFT as needed.
Provide support on bid days, including printing bid documents and coordinating materials for submission.
May perform other duties as assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

Inspects mobile equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation and operates mobile equipment as needed.
Uses basic hand tools such as shovels, brooms, squeegees, scrapers, etc as well as operate mechanic's hand tools.
Performs general utility work including pushing up piles of rock and coal with front end loader and other equipment, unplugging belts, and general labor work as directed.

Minimum of Four (4) years Commercial Controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry. This includes buildings, chiller plants and systems.

Position Summary
We are looking for Construction Management Interns for our summer 2026 internship program! In addition to being assigned a jobsite and mentor, all interns participate in a day-long orientation, create an individualized learning plan, attend and lead site tours, and round-out the summer presenting lessons learned to our Senior Leadership Team. As an intern, you will gain exposure to commercial construction through one of three ways: field-focus, project engineer-focus, or a hybrid of the two, based on experience.
Field
Field interns will work alongside a crew to learn while being in the work. Story provides learning opportunities within steel erection, concrete, and carpentry, depending on the phase of the project. Typically, individuals who are more novice within construction will be assigned to the field internship to lay a solid foundation prior to moving into project management. While most of your time is spent in the field, your internship will include mentorship and job shadowing opportunities with the project engineer on site.
Hybrid
A hybrid between the field and project engineer focus, your time will be split between working in the field and working alongside the project management team. Typically, the hybrid intern will have some construction experience under their belt; you will continue to learn the foundations of building, but you will begin to also get involved in project planning and the project management process.
Project Engineer
Most of your time will be spent with our project management team (project engineer, superintendent) and based out of the jobsite trailer. Your time will be spent learning about project planning and document control through processes such as requests for information (RFIs), submittals, Procore, and more to prepare you for a future career as a Project Engineer after graduation.
Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program studying construction engineering, construction management, civil engineering, industrial engineering, industrial technology, agricultural engineering, building trades, or similar.
Travel: Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Interns may be assigned to jobsites across the state.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noises, and more within OSHA standards. Employees may be exposed to outdoor conditions that include inclement weather such as heat, humidity, cold, wind, and dust. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, stand for long periods of time, walk for moderate-to-long distances on varying surface conditions, climb, crawl, crouch, reach, grip, push, and pull without issue. Summary of Duties:
Prepare construction site each day by preparing materials, tools, and equipment.
Perform commercial remodel work including, but not limited to, general carpentry and finishes, hanging sheetrock, and occasionally working with concrete.
Proficiently operates a variety of hand and power tools, forklifts, skid loaders, and other tools and equipment as directed.
