ABC commonly stands for the American Broadcasting Company. It is an American commercial television broadcast network and the flagship property of Walt Disney. News Story is a term that is quite self-explanatory as it refers to all the information that is recorded either in writing or as an interview and aims to inform the public about any particular matter, event, idea or mishap. A news story can be very short as well lengthy depending on the type and quantity of content and consist of relevant facts and figures.

String out is a series of footage selected for editing. String-outs are commonly used by editors, to identify a starting point. Editors study a scene from every angle of the recorded footage, in order to pinpoint the string outs. In this way, every scene is thoroughly watched by the editor, which chooses the right angle, that should be added into the production. After picking up perfect footage from each scene, which is then played in a series, that enables the editor to produce a video clip that fits the requirements. The string-outs left is then cleared by the assistant editor.
