Ms. McElrath-Slade has a Bachelors Degree in Business from the University of Cincinnati and a Masters Degree in Management from Ohio State University. She is a graduate of the Leadership Washington class and a graduate of the Business Executive Program from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. She also earned a Masters of Divinity Degree from the Howard University School of Divinity. Ms. McElrath-Slade is an ordained minister who is active within her own congregation and nationally in the faith-based outreach communities. In 2000, Ms. McElrath-Slade founded a new non-profit, multi-cultural, non-denominational Christian organization, Sisters United in Christ, which globally unites people of all faiths through its Lewis Institute for Spiritual Formation which provides educational opportunities and its McElrath-Slade Wholeness Institute who reaches out to individuals that are most in need by addressing the necessity for physical, emotional, mental, social, and economic wholeness for all individuals. She has also started corporations such as Black Human Resources Network, BHRN, the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources, NAAAHR, and was the creator of Opportunities Unlimited: Women in the Workforce which was televised on Cable TV.Ms. McElrath-Slade has received numerous awards and recognition's and has been repeatedly named "One of the 25 Most Influential Minority Women in Business.
