This is a VP of strategy role based in Los Angeles, reporting into a co-lead of strategy for the agency, and serving as a key member of the leadership team in our Beverly Hills office. Your profile and experience should reflect that of a seasoned Strategy leader with primary responsibilities across Research & Measurement, Brand Building, Wide Ranging Strategy Applications (including Partnerships, Experiential & Entertainment), People Management, Business Development and Strategic Product / Thought Development.
Your role will cover a wide range of core responsibilities:
Owning senior-level client relationships across priority accounts, serving as a trusted strategic counselor to C-suite and senior brand leaders-particularly in the areas of partnerships, experiential platforms, and entertainment-driven growth.
Leading strategy at the intersection of brands, talent, and rights-holders, collaborating closely with creative, partnerships, and WME counterparts to design culturally resonant, commercially sound platforms that move beyond campaigns into ecosystems.
Shaping and scaling strategic approaches to partnerships and experiential marketing, including sponsorship strategy, brand-talent collaborations, live experiences, cultural moments, and IP-led activations.
Bringing strategic leadership to the business development process (both new and organic); directing and/or authoring quick turn strategies to support major new business pitches for the agency.
Driving strategic rigor from insight through execution, ensuring that cultural intelligence, audience understanding, and brand POVs are translated into clear creative territories, experience design principles, and activation roadmaps.
Acting as a senior strategic voice in entertainment-adjacent work, including film, television, music, sports, fashion, and creator ecosystems-helping brands navigate how (and when) to authentically participate in culture.
Partnering with Account and Operations leadership to ensure strategic excellence at scale, balancing ambition with feasibility, and helping teams manage complexity, scope, and evolving client needs.
Developing and mentoring a dynamic group of strategists and research analysts across the globe; whether direct reports or not helping to coach up the broader Strategy team (as well as departments we collaborate with) to reach their/our full potential.
Contributing to the evolution of the agency's strategic products and frameworks, particularly those that support non-traditional marketing models, experiential platforms, and partnership-led growth.
Representing the agency externally, participating in industry conversations, panels, press, and thought leadership opportunities that reinforce 160over90's position as a leader in culture-driven strategy.
Acting as a key representative of the Strategy team and leader across the agency at large; providing a senior point of escalation and demonstrating an ability to solve complex challenges with limited oversight.

How you will make an impact:
Motivating and leading a talented team of actuaries and cross collaborating with investment and technical professionals in continually striving to optimize Pacific Life's ALM strategy
Through the use of ALM model projections and analysis, modeling assessing ALM strategies and risk positioning across economic, GAAP and Statutory (US and BMA) frameworks
Collaborate with the AVP ALM Strategy and Investment and Product Solutions (IPS) Team in development of new capital efficient and economically advantageous ALM solutions
Effectively communicating ALM strategic analysis to key stakeholders
Monitoring, maintaining and continuously evolving ALM strategic playbooks to manage risks related to market risk exposure, investment allocation and asset transfers
Actively collaborating with teams across the enterprise including Capital Management, Liquidity, Investment, IPS, Risk Management and Valuation to develop, evaluate and challenge explicit strategic ALM decisions or decisions impacting ALM strategy
Conducting R&D on different ALM strategies, methodologies, enhancements, etc. across economic, GAAP and Statutory (US and BMA) frameworks
Supporting R&D initiatives for product development, capital management, reinsurance optimizations, asset allocation and more
Supporting development, review, and challenge of market assumptions within the assumption governance framework
The experience you will bring:
7+ years experience with thorough knowledge of life insurance business, investments, financial markets and risk management
1-2yrs of experience in:
Developing quantitative ALM or hedging strategies;
Managing and executing ALM strategies or hedge programs; or
Overseeing market risks and mitigation programs
Solid experience in financial concepts, Statutory, GAAP, economic value/capital
Experience with U.S. and Bermuda Regulatory Frameworks as they relate to ALM, a plus

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Represent PEN America and/or prepare representatives at events, as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of two years of fundraising and/or event planning experience at a nonprofit organization

Demonstrated success as a team player, engaging in both big picture thinking and minute details

The Role
As an AArete Consultant, you will collaborate closely with clients to understand their most pressing challenges and develop strategies for meaningful change. You will leverage your analytical expertise, entrepreneurial mindset, and commitment to excellence to drive results.

Work You'll Do
As an AArete Consultant, you will support projects and drive successful outcomes through the following:
Conducting in-depth analysis and research to identify and understand market dynamics, industry leading practices, and business challenges
Leveraging and conducting data analysis to uncover insights and develop potential solutions for clients
Identifying potential solutions to business challenges through research, interviews, internal collaboration with other AArete teams and data analysis
Assisting in the creation of business cases, delivering actionable recommendations, and supporting the implementation of initiatives, including cost savings and operational improvement
Developing and delivering presentations that communicate key insights and recommendations, concisely presenting information using clear, industry-appropriate language
Collaborating closely within your project team to ensure alignment and success, acting as an accountable team member who works together with others to reach a common goal
Learning from senior team members and attending trainings to continuously develop your skills and expertise, showing eagerness, curiosity, and reception to feedback
Leading and mentoring Analysts, fostering their growth and development by modeling strong communication, accountability, and teamwork
Preparing polished deliverables, with a focus on storytelling, for final review with the engagement manager
Exercising excellent judgment, clear communication, and a solution-oriented approach in all aspects of your work
Managing client stakeholder and vendor relationships to understand challenges, develop solutions and implement improvements
Delegating tasks as necessary to accelerate delivery within our Intern, Analyst and global support teams
Collaborating across other AArete solutions in identifying client challenges and escalating to leadership to contribute in cross-selling and up-selling

Requirements
2+ years of experience in consulting, professional services, healthcare operations, or other relevant industries with demonstrated project-based, analytical, and client-facing responsibilities
Bachelor's degree required
Advanced proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and basic SQL for data analysis
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret data, identify client profitability improvement opportunities, and develop actionable business cases
Strong professional communication skills, including expertise in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, as well as in-person presentations
Passion to solve challenges for our clients in the healthcare industry, particularly within payer processes and data
Ability to work within diverse project teams both internally and client facing
Enthusiasm for joining a fast-paced, high-growth company and contributing to the development of business architecture in technology applications and tools
High self-motivation, accountability, and a collaborative spirit
Willingness to engage in direct client interaction, including travel to client locations
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship
Preferred Requirements
Strong preference for experience in the payer and healthcare industry, including candidates with provider backgrounds who have worked with payers (e.g., managed care contracting)
Experience with healthcare claims analytics and/or network analytics, with strong understanding of payer/provider contracts, reimbursement language, and key terms
Experience with AArete's other focus industries: Pharmacy, Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Higher Ed, or Technology & Professional Services
Cost reduction and process improvement experience within relevant client industries (Healthcare, Financial Services, Retail, Higher Ed, etc.)
Experience in healthcare systems and digital platforms, including Provider Data Management, Claims Adjudication (e.g., Facets, QNXT, etc.), and related tools, with the ability to leverage these systems to improve data quality, operational efficiency, and end-to-end healthcare processes
Based in Chicago, IL, and able to work from our Chicago office as needed

The estimated base salary range for this position is $84,000 - $102,000. In addition to this base salary, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. This range is a part of a competitive, total compensation package together with our majority employer-paid benefits and incentive pay for eligible roles. Please note that this range is a guideline and individual total compensation may vary due to numerous factors including but not limited to experience level, certifications, and other relevant business considerations.
