The Driver will operate a Broom Sweeper Truck or a Dump Truck/Follow Truck, providing prompt service to customers on scheduled routes, including new housing developments, local cities & road construction, etc. The Broom Truck will remove debris, including broken pavement, asphalt and concrete millings, mud and construction materials or highway debris build-up due to seasonal /weather changes and highway waste. The Follow Truck will tow an attenuator housing the arrow board, to help divert traffic around the Broom Sweeper. Job Responsibilities: Perform required inspection of Broom Sweeper / Dump Truck, Pre-trip and Post-trip. Review scheduled routes assigned, be proactive in asking questions if route is unclear. Perform the safe operation of a Broom Sweeper / Dump Truck. Complete assigned job(s) in the time allotted while maintaining quality of work. Exercise extra caution during inclement weather. Report any equipment failures, near misses or accidents to Lead or Supervisor within 8 hours. Over-night travel may be required. Perform all other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: CDL Class B Clean Driving record DOT Medical Card Requires work performed in outdoor environments/exposure to variable and adverse weather conditions. Foundations For Living is an 84 bed secure residential treatment facility for youth addressing mental health and substance abuse issues. Foundations For Living is licensed by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (ODMHAS) and CARF accredited. Foundations For Living offers individual, group, and family counseling to our residents. The Transportation Specialist provides and ensures secure transportation services for residents as requested or assigned. Other duties include: Follows all laws while in a vehicle established by Law Enforcement-Follows all traffic laws while in a vehicle. Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being and report unusual behavior or physical ailments to medical staff. Transport residents to and from appointments. Provide passengers with assistance entering and exiting vehicles. Keeps all vehicles clean. Reports all safety issues with vehicles to supervisor. Qualifications Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or GED required and one (1) year experience working in a children's services program or residential setting is preferred. Associate's or bachelor's degree in human services, psychology or related field preferred.     The Substitute Transit Vehicle Operator at Pike CAC will work closely with the Transportation Operations Manager, Transit Operations Specialist, and Transit Operations Clerk to provide safe and reliable transportation to Pike County. Functional Area: Transit Operations Estimated Effort: 60% * Drive safely in various settings including, but not limited to, large cities, interstate, highways, and rural areas. * Complete bus driver training courses, meetings, or conferences through the Ohio Department of Transportation or its affiliate related to the job duties of the CATS position. * Maintain required records and handle confidential information in a professional manner. * Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with customers and promote a positive reflection of CAC and CATS. * Attend mandatory driver meetings and complete trainings as assigned by the Transportation Operations Manager or the Director of Senior and Transportation Programs. * Provide coverage as needed in the CATS office answering phones, scheduling, and dispatching. * Report hazardous road conditions to dispatcher. * Assist with training new staff as assigned by the Transportation Operations Manager. * Demonstrate proficiency with the use of tablet, iPad, and commercial 2-way radio. Functional Area: Safety and Sanitation Estimated Effort: 30% * Perform mandatory daily pre-trip inspection of vehicles before operation. * Keep assigned vehicle neat and clean at all times. Vehicles must be sanitized and disinfected each time the bus is emptied and every evening once returned to base. * Complete bus/vehicle washing and detailing as assigned. * Fill out defective equipment reports and ensure they are addressed promptly and appropriately; inform appropriate personnel, including the Transit Operations Manager or Vehicle Mechanic, of required maintenance. Functional Area: Agency Service Estimated Effort: 10% * Participate in CAC Committee assignments and other agency service duties as assigned. * Serve as liaison between all passengers and the Transportation Program. Minimum Requirements * High School Diploma or equivalent. * Valid Ohio Driver's License, clean driving record, and insurability under agency policy. * Completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol test and criminal background check. * Must pass DOT physical examination. * Friendly, professional, and courteous demeanor. * First Aid, CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogen training within six (6) months of employment. Preferred Qualifications * CDL with Passenger Endorsement. * Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office. * Preference given to individuals with driving and/or transportation experience.
