We're looking for the right technical leader to define our technical direction and drive cross-cutting product delivery. This high-visibility role requires close collaboration with engineering leaders across Stripe and the ability to set ambitious goals for a high-performing team. What you'll do We are seeking an experienced technical leader to define and drive the evolution of our organization's technical and product vision. Responsibilities * Design, build, and scale our applications, with an emphasis on reliability, scalability and usability * Define and design opinionated architectural strategies for improving the extensibility of our platform * Diagnose and identify sustainable solutions to nebulous performance challenges * Build high-quality end-to-end product experiences, demonstrating deep care for users' needs and serving as a steward of crafting great experiences * Collaborate nimbly with cross functional partners (PM), high-visibility teams and their stakeholders to support their key initiatives - navigating various types of organizational complexity with the support of your own leadership team. * Partner with Engineering Management, Product Manager and key leaders across the company to create and drive toward the longer term vision * Unblock the team to execute against both short-term and long-term roadmaps, making effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation * Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes * Teach and mentor other team members to become the next generation of leaders at Stripe Who you are We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in-office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible. Pay and benefits The annual US base salary range for this role is $224,000 - $336,000. For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and location.
