THE ROLE
The Project Manager will lead the planning, designing, permitting, assisting, funding, bidding, and performing of construction administration as it relates to civil engineering water and wastewater infrastructure work. Additionally, the Project Manager will work closely with the client to understand the scope of projects, resolve issues, and provide routine updates on project progress. Project work focuses on water intake, treatment, pumping, storage and distribution, and wastewater collection, pumping, and treatment. These responsibilities include:
Prepares plans, specifications, costs, and estimates for municipal and industrial water and wastewater facilities.
Leverage engineering design software to edit project designs, draft plans, drawings, and models according to project specifications.
Leads and completes engineering design projects from start to finish.
Meets with client board members and provides monthly progress reporting.
Monitors construction progress and provides construction support and on-site observation.
Lead and manage construction administration tasks, including submittal and Request For Information (RFI) review, progress payment review, compliance with funding agency provisions, and oversight of onsite construction project representative staff.
Analyze water/wastewater facilities for system deficiencies regarding compliance with local, state, and federal standards and regulations. Provide improvement alternatives to meet compliance with such regulations.
Assist the Senior Manager in engaging with community members, government officials, and other stakeholders to communicate project goals, address concerns, and gather input on water and wastewater initiatives.

YOUR STRENGTHS
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering or equivalent ABET-accredited engineering program
Minimum of 4+ years of civil engineering design and construction experience. Water/wastewater engineer project experience preferred.
Experience in task or project management
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) professional designation required

The ideal candidate will possess a background in mechanics/structural engineering and be responsible for engineering consulting work supporting the energy industry. The role will be to support project teams in the areas of finite element modeling, stress analysis, fatigue and fracture mechanics and related fields.
The work environment is a dynamic team based on project requirements. Each project team is usually led by an industry expert and composed of engineers from various engineering disciplines such as stress analysis, fracture mechanics, structural dynamics, and material science.
Primary Responsibilities:
Stress analysis of power plant structures, pressure vessels, piping systems, rotating equipment and other power plant components using both classical and numerical methods
Stress analyses using the guidelines in the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
Supporting and leading the FEA team
Support fatigue management programs for various components
Participation in design and repair projects of pressure vessel/piping components and
Communication with clients to provide engineering problem solution, results and analyses
Required Skills/Qualifications:
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
5+ years (with MS) or 7+ years (with BS) of related engineering experience
Advanced skills in ANSYS APDL/Workbench (ABAQUS is a plus)
Advanced finite element analysis of vessel, piping, valves and other nuclear components
Experience with mechanical, thermal, and modal analyses, and non-linear metallic material models
Assist and lead in maintaining company standards related to finite element analysis
Proficiency in Section III, Div 1 of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC)
Experience in Section III, Div 5 and Section XI, Div 1 & 2 of ASME BPVC is a plus
Attend client, vendor, and internal team meetings
Proficient in writing technical reports and communication skills
Desired Skills/Qualifications:

The expected salary range for this role is $100,560-$168,240 in San Jose, CA; $85,840-$142,800 in Denver, CO; and $78,480-$131,760 in Charlotte, NC. Exact pay will be commensurate with experience.

What you'll be doing:
Under the supervision of senior engineers, implementation of customer process control projects for continuous and batch applications.
Work with customer's process engineers to develop functional requirements under the guidance of more experienced engineers, leads, or managers.
Work with senior engineers and customers to develop project methodologies that will enhance their standards.
Work with customer's process engineers to develop functional requirements.
Contribute design, configuration, and testing of continuous and batch control strategies.
Participate in the planning, coordination, and review of the project team's deliverables.
Support start-up at the customer facility.
Ability to understand the project scope and financials. Identify and communicate potential roadblocks up through project team.
Proactively develop customer relationships; anticipate and provide solutions to customer needs, giving high priority to customer satisfaction.
Travel to customer sites.
Participate in peer reviews for quality checking purposes.
Participate in internal project initiatives as time permits.
What we're looking for:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
0 - 2+ years of experience in executing and supporting engineering projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Proven ability to interact effectively with customers on technical topics.
Strong documentation skills using the Microsoft Office suite.
Knowledge of P&ID and electrical schematics.
Understanding of process control terminology, industry standards, and best practices.
Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record as determined by Caltrol's insurance guidelines.
Builds and sustains professional, respectful, and collaborative relationships with customers and colleagues across the organization.
Communicates with purpose and clarity, tailored to the audience. Adjusts style to others, listens actively, and integrates feedback.

Desired qualifications:
Project execution experience as part of a larger project team.
Prior experience in the Life Sciences industry with knowledge/familiarity of FDA regulations and compliance standards.
Experience with food & beverage, mining, or oil and gas a plus!
Exposure/familiarity with Emerson's DeltaV distributed control systems or other Process Control Platforms.
Prior work experience with Emerson or its Impact / Business Partners is a
plus!
Experience with S95 and S88 project concepts and methodologies.
Experience with field instrumentation used in industrial environments is a plus.

Work Environment/Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday. Standard business hours. This position
may be
eligible for Caltrol's hybrid work program, allowing remote work for up to two days per week.
Physical Demands:
This job will require significant amounts of sitting. A standing desk may be available if accommodations are required. This job requires the use of a computer and a telephone. Must be able to visit customer sites, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and industrial environments. Use of PPE may be required. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
Travel:
Some travel based on assigned projects, including overnights within the Caltrol territory, including local, AZ, CA, and NV.
