THE ROLE
The Project Manager will lead the planning, designing, permitting, assisting, funding, bidding, and performing of construction administration as it relates to civil engineering water and wastewater infrastructure work. Additionally, the Project Manager will work closely with the client to understand the scope of projects, resolve issues, and provide routine updates on project progress. Project work focuses on water intake, treatment, pumping, storage and distribution, and wastewater collection, pumping, and treatment. These responsibilities include:
Prepares plans, specifications, costs, and estimates for municipal and industrial water and wastewater facilities.
Leverage engineering design software to edit project designs, draft plans, drawings, and models according to project specifications.
Leads and completes engineering design projects from start to finish.
Meets with client board members and provides monthly progress reporting.
Monitors construction progress and provides construction support and on-site observation.
Lead and manage construction administration tasks, including submittal and Request For Information (RFI) review, progress payment review, compliance with funding agency provisions, and oversight of onsite construction project representative staff.
Analyze water/wastewater facilities for system deficiencies regarding compliance with local, state, and federal standards and regulations. Provide improvement alternatives to meet compliance with such regulations.
Assist the Senior Manager in engaging with community members, government officials, and other stakeholders to communicate project goals, address concerns, and gather input on water and wastewater initiatives.

YOUR STRENGTHS
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering or equivalent ABET-accredited engineering program
Minimum of 4+ years of civil engineering design and construction experience. Water/wastewater engineer project experience preferred.
Experience in task or project management
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) professional designation required

Job Description
We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team and contribute to a wide range of projects, including civic and institutional buildings, healthcare facilities, residential construction, and research laboratory structures. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for performing structural analysis and seismic design, developing construction documents, and supporting projects through all phases from planning and permitting to construction. What You Will Be Doing:
Designing gravity, lateral, and foundation systems (shallow and deep foundations) for new buildings and retrofit projects in high seismic hazard zones.

The Position
The Structural Engineer (SE) for Above Group shall contribute and support the Engineering efforts for the Firm. The SE shall possess a bachelor's degree in Civil engineering, and a master's degree with a structural emphasis or equivalent, from an ABET accredited institution. This individual shall directly contribute to the Firm and its success through the application of knowledge and technical experience to effectively produce a quality design and ultimate product to the customer. The SE is also responsible for contributing to the growth of the team by leading and mentoring subordinate staff in expanding their capabilities and contributions. The SE shall execute design duties as required to ensure quality is always maintained.

This position will report to the Structural Group Manager in the Silver Spring, MD Office.
Responsibilities:
Prepare project specifications for assigned projects;
Conduct quality control reviews to ensure design calculations and structural drawings are complete, coordinated, follow the office's standards and have a high level of quality;
Perform field reviews for projects under construction and surveys of existing structures;
Manage, oversee, and contribute to the construction administration duties such as reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs;
Project financial success, including efficient utilization of staff and resources;
Effective delegation and direction to structural engineers, Revit operators and administrative staff;
Manage, oversee, and contribute to the analysis and design calculations as well as the structural drawings for assigned projects;
Maintain and improve client relationships and relationships with other consultants;
Communicate with clients and consultants to understand project requirements; and
Plan and organize project staff to meet project requirements and schedule.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in civil or architectural engineering (with a focus on structures) from an accredited university. Master's degree is a plus;
Ten (10+) years of relevant experience in structural design of commercial, institutional, residential or infrastructure projects using concrete, steel and wood required;
Experience should include structural design of new buildings, renovations, and additions;
A PE or SE licensed is required;
Candidate shall have a working knowledge and clear understanding of structural engineering principles;
Knowledge of appropriate structural engineering design software required (e.g., RAM, ETABS, RISA, etc.);
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT is required;
Highly motivated and responsible individual with strong work ethic;
Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor younger engineers; and
Experience supporting project scope, cost and schedule for multiple projects and clients.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed within a general office environment 90% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Field work may be required 10% of the time where work may be conducted outside in one or more of the following conditions: heat or cold, wet or humid, and dry or arid. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) may be required as needed.
