1. Structural Analysis
A structural analysis is a type of method or process determining the condition and situation of a particular structure. Engineers, architect and other related professional often use it to study and review the behavior, dynamics, issues, and failures encountered during a project. It is the key to engineering design structure that identifies the system's performance and integrity and its effect. The purpose of the analysis is to assess the stresses, deformations, acceleration, internal forces, and stability.
- Performed structural analysis of aspects of rocket motor assemblies using both finite element analysis software and mechanics of materials theory.
- Review vendor structural analysis reports for materials characterization compliance to the F135 program requirements.
2. Revit
Revit, also known as Autodesk Revit, is computer software used by architects, structural engineers, and designers to perform building modeling tasks. Revit was designed to facilitate users, draw building modeling structures in a 2D and 3D format. Creating such models allows architects and engineers to pre-planning, scheduling, estimating the life of the structure and the entire cost of construction.
- Received training in Revit (BIM) software as well as completed a three story model of existing structural drawings.
- Introduced basic BIM process and provided Revit training to new employees of JPADRI.
3. PowerPoint
- Performed presentations of relevant design specs through Excel and PowerPoint platforms.
- Developed Powerpoint presentations and participated in client team meeting
4. Structural Design
- Gained first-hand experience working on forensic engineering and structural design for restoration of residential and commercial buildings and parking structures.
- Modified the structural design of jacket and performed the analysis of jacket self-vibration and dynamic analysis under earthquake condition.
5. Engineering Software
- Designed steel connections using Structural Engineering software for multiple commercial building projects.
- Utilized engineering software to design and analyze concrete products Calculated all relevant loads of products both below and above grade
6. Engineering Calculations
- Performed engineering calculations and conducted basic analysis under supervision.
- Produced structural engineering calculations for vertical structures.

10. Reinforced Concrete
- Performed structural hand calculations of analysis and design of reinforced concrete elements.
- Completed a preliminary design of reinforced concrete raft foundation
11. FEA
The Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is software that can simulate physical phenomenon with the help of numerical procedures. FEA helps companies in developing better and cost-effective products by reducing the number of physical prototypes.
- Performed a stress analysis (FEA) on this component to draw correlations between flight environments and testing conditions.
- Assisted Project Engineer in the redesign/running FEA analysis of the new pipe rack design used to hold gas pipes.
12. Cost Estimates
- Observed preliminary design results and cost estimates for different conditions.
- Performed material quantity calculations and cost estimates.
13. Design Software
Design software is used to create, edit, and display various types of graphics and images, including but not limited to photography, 3D design, and the website interface. It enables users to create a wide variety of visual files and offers various tools and functions to enhance the user's artistic skills and techniques. Some features include design, image editing, and digital illustration. Design software might also reference the actual act of creating a piece of software or application with a larger business or product goal in mind.

What skills stand out on structural engineering internship resumes?
Director, Leadership Development Program, Southern Illinois University Carbondale
Many of the organizations today are adapting to online meetings and work, but aren't very good at mastering the new online meeting platforms and integrated tools. This is where new grads can excel. Just as everyone lists MS Office as a skill, the graduate who can demonstrate that they can make an organization more productive by having a mastery, and not just a proficiency, of online meeting platform. Employers have been asking for people with interpersonal skills for a decade because building trusting relatinships are what gets work done. Moving online only exacerbates this relationship problem. I believe that this current generation has potential to pivot off of their social media experiences but they won't be able to ghost their co-workers when conflict arrises. Taking initiative is the third skill that organizations value especially during these times. Because they are trying to figure out how to work remotely and develop new business processes, they will have less time for hand holding with new employees. New graduates who understant that they have a tremendous opportunity to excel when they take the initiative to go beyond what is expected of them and help their managers create business solutions to the new work environment.
