The Lead Auditor will play a critical role in ensuring the adequate implementation of the Structural Integrity Associates quality assurance program. The individual in this position will be expected to provide quality engineering support, perform surveillances, and lead and support internal and supplier quality assurance audits. As such, the individual should be able to qualify as a lead auditor under the Structural Integrity Associates quality assurance program within the first six months of hiring on with the company. The position will also involve the performance of contract review and approval, review to support project closeout, and support of the corrective action program.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct comprehensive NQA-1 audits of nuclear processes to verify compliance with regulations, standards, and implementing procedures
Perform surveillances to monitor compliance with quality assurance standards
Follow-up on audit findings to ensure effective implementation of corrective actions
Liaise with organizational stakeholders to manage the corrective action process
Contribute to the development and improvement of quality program and procedures
Maintain certification as Lead Auditor in accordance with NQA-1
Review project packages against requirements in support of contract review and project closeout
Review calibration records to support project activities
Update approved suppliers list, performing annual and triennial updates, as applicable, to maintain associated supplier information
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Extensive experience with 10 CFR 50, Appendix B and NQA-1
Experience with the implementation of 10 CFR Part 21 is desired
Knowledge of commercial grade dedication
Familiarity with quality assurance program development, maintenance, and implementation is desired
Experience in an operating quality assurance organization is highly desired
Skilled in leading NIAC or NUPIC audits is highly desired
Experience with customer audits is desired
Knowledge in the performance of quality control inspections is desired
Problem solving, critical thinking, self-starter, with effective written and verbal communication
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and five years of nuclear experience, or Associate's degree and seven years of nuclear experience. At least five years of experience in leading nuclear quality assurance audits is desired.
Work Environment:
The position can be performed remotely, with at least 25% travel to perform audits and support customer audits as needed
If remote, the individual must be able to follow the remote work policies
Pay Range:
The expected salary range for this role in North Carolina is $117,000 - $125,000 annually. Exact pay will be commensurate with experience.

The Design Quality Manager (Design-Build) utilizes expertise to refine key performance indicators, improve quality performance and consistency, manage risk, and improve profitability on design-build projects within the design scope for which we are responsible to deliver. This individual will have reporting responsibilities to the DB Senior Quality Manager, the Contractor's Quality Manager, and the Project Executive, and may engage with Owner quality representatives. This individual will also collaborate with the DB Chief Engineer and Corporate Quality Officer to recommend improvements to the DB QMS and carry lessons learned from project to project
**What You'll Do:**
+ In collaboration with the Program/Project Manager, Design-Build leadership (when required) and the client, develops, and proactively manages the implementation of the program/project quality management plan in accordance with client, owner and FTA requirements (when necessary), while also meeting HNTB Quality Management Standards of Performance and the requirements associated with the HNTB Quality Management System (QMS).
+ Participates in work planning collaboratively with client and PM team to determine the level of effort required for quality management.
+ Reviews and approves subconsultant quality plans, and those of other entities under contract to the client, when necessary.
+ Monitors and ensures adherence by HNTB program/project staff and subconsultant, as well as other entities under contract to the client, to the project quality plan and report on compliance internally and to client (when required), including assisting with the identification and mitigation of quality related risks.
+ Works with client, project, office, Design-Build (when necessary) and division quality leadership to develop and implement technologies and processes to achieve effective quality management of deliverables.
+ Establishes and implements quality performance metrics achieve 4for4 delivery and client quality management objectives.
+ Participates in monthly program/project meetings to report to project, office and division leadership on project quality performance, including client when necessary.
+ Develops and oversees the delivery of program/project quality management plan training.
+ Manages and implements a quality audit program.
+ Manages a corrective action system to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
+ Reports on and provides recommendations to leadership regarding the performance of the program/project quality management plan.

**What You'll Need:**
+ Bachelor's degree in quality management/engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other related math/science or project management discipline and
+ 10 years demonstrated experience managing a quality program, including experience auditing programs/projects in the planning, design and/or construction phases. (Similar experience in a quality management position on alternative delivery projects with design fees in excess of $15M to be assigned to a DB project).
+ In lieu of education, 14 years' experience in a quality management position.
+ Must have experience implementing quality management plans in compliance with ISO 9001 and/or FTA Quality Management System requirements.

Perform thermal heat transfer and structural stress analysis on rotating equipment, pressure vessels, piping systems, turbine rotors, blades, casings, valve bodies, and other plant structures using both classical methods and finite element analysis.
Utilize fatigue, corrosion, and high-temperature creep life assessment, along with fracture mechanics-based crack growth concepts, to evaluate the serviceability of damaged or flawed components.

Familiarity with power generation rotating machinery including but not limited to gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and plant auxiliaries.
Working knowledge of CAD software (Solidworks is a plus), Abaqus and/or ANSYS FE software, and general fracture mechanics and creep concepts.
Experience in life management of capital / critical assets or maintenance is a plus.
Basic understanding of common gas turbine and steam turbine alloys, failure mechanisms and properties.
Ability to be actively involved in both internal and external training and development programs.
Computer programming experience is a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential, as well as a working knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office.
Experience in consulting, sales, or application engineering is a plus.
Professional Engineering licensure (PE) in one or more states is a plus.
