Composite Technician needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client to work onsite in Ashburn, VA.

Description:
As a Composite Technician, you will work in a dynamic, fast paced production and R&D environment with a focus on quality and attention to detail. Required tasks will include the fabrication of composites using various techniques and types of materials, composites integration, painting, lamination, composites trimming and bonding, etc.
In this role, you will be a part of the Agile Development Group which is a division that specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.
Essential Functions:
Performs all duties required to assist with the fabrication and integration of composite parts and assemblies. Tasks required may include:
Constructs wet layups and/or Pre-Pregs of carbon fiber, fiberglass, and/or Kevlar utilizing various methods such as compression molds, vacuum bagging, and compression bladders
Operates ovens to complete bonding cycle. Controls conditions of heat and time by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agents being used
Performs minor part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming bonds a variety of materials (composite, metal, or laminate) to parts, components, assemblies, equipment or structures to complete semi-finished or finished products.
Recommends updates for existing processes and reviews drawings in support of engineering
Helps to design and utilize new templates to be cut out on a laser table or CNC cutting table
Monitors and verifies quality of finished product.
Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
Identifies and corrects conditions that affect employee safety; upholding corporate safety standards
Work in a team setting collaborating with manufacturing, planning and engineering
Lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying 25-50 pounds on a regular basis.
Walking, bending, sitting, standing, climbing, and reaching for prolonged periods of time on a regular basis.
Ability to seize, grasp, turn, hold, and operate manufacturing tools and equipment.
Willingness and ability to work in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noises.

Qualifications and Certification:
Must support on-site in clients Manassas HQ 5-days a week.
A minimum of 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience with Saab 340 aircraft maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
Proven experience as a SAAB 340 Technician, including systems upgrades, avionics installations, and airframe alterations, and required certifications: Client CT7 General Familiarization Certification, strongly preferred, Flight Safety International Saab 340 A/B Maintenance Certification strongly preferred, Client Dowty Propeller Field Repairs Certification strongly preferred.
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required.
Inspection Authorization (IA) a plus.
Valid Driver's License required and ability to obtain airport access card.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

· Perform tasks related to painting, staining, refinishing, sealing, patching of interior surfaces.
· Perform tasks related to building exterior similar to above along with caulking and waterproofing of exterior envelope.
· Utilize various equipment for water proofing and or painting to include but is not limited to high-pressure spraying equipment, common patching and painting equipment. Also utilizing scaffolding and or various lifting equipment to access various areas of the building envelope.

The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center is the Official Cancer Center of New Mexico and the only National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center in a 500-mile radius. Candidates will support aircraft operations, servicing, installation of company and client-supplied equipment and managing all aspects of aviation operations as related to preparing, maintaining, and servicing aircraft that support government contract flight operations. We are seeking technicians in contracted, part-time and full-time roles. Traveling to locations in the US while conducting operations for periods of one to two weeks can be expected.
Requirements for the Position:
Must hold an FAA A&P certificate
Five (5) years' experience as an aircraft maintenance technician performing daily servicing, scheduled maintenance, responding to unplanned maintenance requirements and supporting high-tempo flight operations is strongly desired; shorter periods of experience may be considered
Should have documented experience providing maintenance and repair of King Air family of aircraft, PT-6 powerplants and all levels of maintenance and repair for aircraft similar to Cessna 337s.
Must have documented experience with first line troubleshooting, servicing, and repair of avionics systems
Documented experience supporting government flight operations and compliance with government requirements for maintenance documentation, ground safety, tool control and FOD programs is strongly desired
Candidates must be experienced with administrative tasks such as developing maintenance plans, planning calendars, and maintaining aircraft, engine and prop logs
Candidates should be prepared to provide basic tools in support of deployed operations (special support and test equipment will be provided)

Experience Desired:

In this role, you will be a part of the Agile Development Group which is a division that specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.
Essential Functions:
Performs all duties required to assist with the fabrication and integration of composite parts and assemblies. Tasks required may include:
Constructs wet layups and/or Pre-Pregs of carbon fiber, fiberglass, and/or Kevlar utilizing various methods such as compression molds, vacuum bagging, and compression bladders.
Operates ovens to complete bonding cycle. Controls conditions of heat and time by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agents being used.
Performs minor part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming bonds a variety of materials (composite, metal, or laminate) to parts, components, assemblies, equipment or structures to complete semi-finished or finished products.
Recommends updates for existing processes and reviews drawings in support of engineering.
Helps to design and utilize new templates to be cut out on a laser table or CNC cutting table.
Monitors and verifies quality of finished product. Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
Identifies and corrects conditions that affect employee safety; upholding corporate safety standards.
