The Field Service Engineer is responsible for onsite installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of Leica equipment.
This position reports to the District Field Service Manager, West and is part of the Service Department working remotely to cover the Western United States Region.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Experienced in performing high quality installation, repair and maintenance on mass spectrometers, HPLC and/or capillary electrophoresis instrumentation with a solid understanding of Sciex or competitive products.
Performs qualifications services and customer training, and responsible for customer satisfaction at strategic accounts.
Completes administration duties (logging service activities, expense reporting, inventory, etc.)
The essential requirements of the job include:
Associate's degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent experience (i.e. Military Certificates in electronics or avionics).
LCMS and/or capillary electrophoresis experience is required, prior experience using and/or servicing mass spectrometry or scientific instrumentation.
Hold and maintain a valid Driver's License; meet Vendor Credentialing requirements; ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs. along with ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at the waist.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to travel - Domestic/International travel by vehicle or airplane, with up to 50% overnight travel may be required and exposure to seasonal weather based on geographic region
Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for
customer satisfaction in all aspects of the job. Increased throughput, decreased downtime, regular Preventive Maintenance, regular upgrades as deemed by Leica Microsystems technical staff. A clear advocate for the customer (internal and external) and a steward for the company.
This role reports directly to the District Service Manager and is part of the Life Sciences Service Organization. The position is remote-based, with a primary service area covering the Mid-Atlantic region, including a regular driving commute to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.

The essential requirements of the job include associate's degree in mechanical, electrical, biological science or military equivalent.
1 year of computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite, Windows base networking) as well as Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

The
Field Service Engineer
is responsible for
installing, maintaining, and repairing laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. They provide on-site technical support, conduct preventive maintenance, and deliver a high level of customer service to clinical and research laboratories.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Under minimal direction, complete troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications, and service repair needs on Beckman Coulter equipment including providing excellent and efficient service to Beckman Coulter's customers, along with technical training on products.
Maintain accurate customer service logs and internal service records, order repair parts, and adhere to cycle times. Utilize business systems such as OBI, Sales Force, and SharePoint for Service Call Planning and advancing team goals
Communicate with various levels of internal and external customers, recognizing and addressing their unique needs. Foster collaboration by assisting with the training of newer Field Service Engineers
The essential requirements of the job include:
Associate degree (prefer technical, biomedical, instrumentation, electrical engineering or related) or equivalent military experience.
1-year experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation
Ability to manage a dynamic service schedule, travel throughout an assigned region, and independently complete service documentation, PMs, and corrective actions while meeting company performance and compliance requirements.

Job Description
Under the supervision of the Regional Manager and working within the Western Pennsylvania/Cumberland, MD area, the Part-Time Field Services Representative (25 hours per week) is responsible for the on-going support of the Medline ReNewal Reprocessing Program to pack and ship designated medical devices as well as execute any other tasks as agreed to with the facility. This individual will deliver prompt and excellent service to maintain and grow the program through job functions which include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:
Establish and follow a regular schedule to visit the assigned facility in order to collect devices in the designated containers
Coordinate the packing of devices in Medline ReNewal shipping containers (employing proper techniques to ensure safe shipment of product)
Arrange for shipment of collection containers in a timely manner
Update the Medline ReNewal Collection Container Locations sheet to provide an accurate record of where all containers have been placed throughout the facility
Provide support to in-service sessions as directed by the assigned Account Manager
Make regular rounds throughout the facility; initially to introduce self and Medline ReNewal, and eventually to help answer questions and share any staff concerns with the assigned Account Manager
100% local travel to Altoona, Everett, Somerset, and Cumberland
Ensure program supplies remain stocked for use; distribute program collateral throughout the facility as directed by the assigned Account Manager
Qualifications:
High School Diploma (GED) preferred
Residence in the general Altoona/Everett/Somerset/Cumberland area
Able to travel locally 100% of the time
Ability to regularly lift at least 30 pounds as a regular part of daily tasks
A current valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, clean driving record and ability to travel in own vehicle to designated facility
Ability to complete collections between 6am and 6pm to align with the schedules of facility staff members
Able to be credentialed at the highest level in order to gain admittance to all required rooms within each designated facility
