Stuart Hall School for Boys company history timeline

1985

The school held its first auction in the spring of 1985, earning $30,000.

1987

They succeeded, and the 1987-88 school year began on schedule.

1989

In 1989, Margaret d’Hemecourt, who started as a teacher assistant, was welcomed as the first Head of Middle School, a great sign of growth for the school.

1991

The oldest boys were in first grade, and would go on to become the first graduating class of Stuart Hall in 1991. “School began with tremendous parental support and a feeling of optimism that was seen everywhere,” Mr.

1997

Gallop resigned as Headmaster in 1997, and upon his departure, he charged all constituents of the Stuart Hall community to help the school grow to its highest potential.

2002

Ground-breaking on the first building took place in 2002.

2005

Owing to the tireless dedication of the entire school family, Stuart Hall reopened on November 7, 2005.

By the spring of 2005, the two-story multi-purpose gymnasium had been raised.

2013

2013: Celebrating 30 Years of Forming Leaders for LifeStuart Hall celebrated 30 years of "Forming Leaders for Life" by welcoming its first legacy student, Liam Van Vrancken, son of alum Jay Van Vrancken '93.

2016

The great-great-great-granddaughter of Hunter McGuire, the surgeon after whom the Lower School was originally named, graduated from Stuart Hall in 2016.

2017

Brad Arnold and his son Jonathan Arnold, Class of 2017.
