Job Description An Infant/Toddler Assistant Caregiver is an individual who assists the lead in helping ensure that each and every one of our student's individual needs are met. The assistant must have a passion for serving young children. The assistant must be willing to take directives from a supervising lead and/or building administrator. As part of the professional veterinary curriculum, colleges encourage off-campus educational experiences in practices outside of the teaching hospital. Practical experience in a well-run and contemporary practice can be a valuable component of your veterinary education, preparing you to deliver better care after graduation. Our program is dedicated to contributing to your practice-readiness and to help you hit the ground running after graduation. Our program structure: Our externships are flexible-they can range from two to eight weeks during the year, according to your college curriculum - but are typically two or three weeks in length. Your schedule will include days, evenings and weekends. Our externship rotations are designed to allow students, under veterinary supervision, to practice the problem-solving, technical and communication skills that they have acquired during their clinical preparation. Externs are given the opportunity to work alongside our veterinary team and are encouraged to participate in all aspects of patient care. A stipend of $250 per week will be provided. What you'll be doing: Externs experience the typical caseload of a small animal practice. Program expectations All students accepted into the Franciscan Health student nurse externship program are expected to: * Commit to entire 10-week program and orientation dates * Follow his or her assigned preceptor's work schedule (36-40 hours per week) Requirements Applying students must: * Have completed their junior year of an accredited BSN program prior to the externship. * Be currently enrolled in good standing. * Be American Heart Association BLS certified. * Submit 2 letters of recommendation (one from clinical instructor). * Provide a professional statement of interest. * Submit a clearly readable unofficial transcript. Please attach all required documents to this application. In addition, all potential externship candidates will be asked to attend a panel interview. Job Description DVM Summer Internship: 1st & 2nd Year Veterinary Medicine School Students Indianapolis, IN Veterinarian Noah's Animal Hospitals is pleased to announce we are accepting applications from 1st and 2nd year Veterinary Medicine school students for our Summer Internship Program. The Summer Internship Program runs each summer for the months of June and July. During the typical 6 to 8-week internship, with opportunity for lengthier internships on a case-by-case basis, by request, spending typically 2-3 weeks per hospital location/practice focus. Students will spend their summer experience rotating through our 9 Noah's Animal Hospital locations, with introduction into general practice, emergency, and low-cost community care. Students interning with Noah's will improve technical and diagnostic skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, intubation, surgical preparation, radiology placement and wound management, while working alongside veterinarians and skilled technical staff.
