Qualifications

It is the primary responsibility of the EEC Child Development Teacher's Assistant to provide activities for children from 2-5 years of age in the Early Education Center program, to comply with the overall procedures and policies of the program, and to be an effective witness for Christ.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position's duties are normally performed in a standard work environment based on the activity scheduled. Some physical effort is required; therefore, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. He or she may be required to walk or sit for extended periods and may be exposed to outside weather conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, humidity, rain, and direct sunlight. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment, such as a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, and other similar machines.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

This Teaching Assistant opportunity is perfect for individuals passionate about fostering student growth, offering hands-on experience in supporting classroom instruction, managing learning resources, and encouraging a positive academic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the classroom teacher to maintain a safe learning environment
- Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students with special needs, reinforcing lessons and implementing IEPs to achieve goals
- Assist in compiling classroom communications including supporting with differentiation for different children's needs
- Assist with classroom management, redirecting behavior, and implementing behavior management plans
- Facilitate interactions between students with disabilities and their peers, teaching and modeling strategies for positive interaction
- Use a variety of learning methods to enhance the student learning experiences and support them as needed
- Support with personal care or hygiene as needed, including toileting, feeding, and dressing
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Experience working with children with special educational needs
- Experience working with personal care
- Passion for working within special education
- U.S. work authorization (Zen Educate cannot provide sponsorship for an employment visa or relocation assistance at this time)
- Applicants must be professionally proficient in English
Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable being on your feet and moving around the classroom throughout the day
- Able to lift up to 20 lbs and safely assist students when needed (kneeling, bending, quick response)
- Additional physical requirements may be requested during your application process
Preferred Qualifications
- Past work experience in a school
- CPR and First Aid
- CPI Training
Salary
Pay: $22 - $26 per hour, paid weekly.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, within hours of 7:30 am - 3:00/4:30 pm (no weekend work).

You will work within Special Needs classrooms at school campuses throughout Yuba City, Marysville, Olivehurst, Live Oak, and Wheatland. As a Teacher Assistant, you will support special education teachers in providing high-quality educational services, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment, and assisting students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide instructional support to students under the direction of the special education teacher.
Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting instructional materials to meet student needs.
Offer one-on-one or small group support to reinforce learning concepts and skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.
Monitor student progress, document performance, and report observations to the lead teacher.
Support the social, emotional, and behavioral development of students, implementing positive reinforcement techniques.
Prepare and organize instructional materials and classroom resources.
Assist with physical or mobility needs of students, as necessary.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other staff members to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
Travel to school campuses within Sutter & Yuba County as required.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have one of the following: 48 college units OR AA degree and higher OR Para-Eductor certification which must be obtained prior to starting.
Experience: Previous experience working with groups of children or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
Transportation: Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to various school campuses on short notice.
Prerequisites for Hiring Consideration:
Willingness to complete a Live Scan Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
Clear Criminal Background Investigation.
Current T.B. test with clear results.
Must sucessfully complete the Mandatory Absue Report Training course.
Completion of online skill assessments with acceptable results.
Working Conditions:
Classroom environment with occasional physical activity requirements.
May involve lifting, bending, or assisting students with mobility.
