REPORTS TO: ECE Assistant Principal
Bridges is seeking a passionate Classroom Assistant (CA) to support the whole classroom in our non-categorical self-contained special education classrooms and general education classrooms. The Classroom Assistant will assist with instruction, social-emotional support, and related daily living support for students in grades PreK-5th grade. Supporting classrooms with students who have emotional disorders, autism, pervasive developmental disorder (PDD), developmental delays in one or more areas, intense behavioral challenges, multiple learning problems, and other related disorders. There are two types of non-categorical special education classrooms where a Classroom Assistant could work. A non-categorical special education classroom rooted in the principles of ABA/VB to guide instruction and classroom management. Supervision is provided to all teaching team members by a certified BCBA practitioner. ABA or VB experience is desired but not necessary to apply for the position. Classroom training based on ABA and VB will be provided. Or a Bridge 2 classroom, which is an educational setting for students with diverse and significant learning needs where a teaching team provides instruction across multiple subjects throughout the day. This model offers individualized instruction and adapted lessons from the general education curriculum with aligned standards. Also, flexible scheduling and an environment to support the specific needs of students with disabilities while providing intensive support. This is a 10-month position.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Collaborate with the Lead Teacher in the management of a non-categorical self-contained or inclusion classroom.
Implement prescribed care plan and assist with all Adaptive Daily Living Skills (ADLS) (toileting, cleaning, feeding, positioning) and assistive technology.
Maintain safety of students and act as a positive role model.
Support assigned student(s) with physical and academic support during instruction.
Regularly collect data to track students' progress in 4 program areas: curriculum, IEP, ADLS, and ABA/VB (if applicable).

SIGN ON BONUS
If you are hired as an Assistant Teacher II with a start date between June 2024 and December 31, 2025, you will be eligible for a $3,000 signing bonus, payable in three installments, as follows: (1) a one-time, taxable bonus payment of $750 after 30 days of employment with Martha's Table, (2) a one-time, taxable bonus payment of $750 upon successful completion of the 90-day introduction period, and (3) a one-time, taxable bonus payment of $1,500 after 120 days of employment and are in good standing.
SALARY INFORMATION
The starting salary for an Assistant Teacher II is $21.00 per hour. Martha's Table (MT) participates in
DC OSSE Equity Pay
, which provides additional wages to teachers based on credentials and funding. Based on OSSE Equity Pay, the salary provided would be adjusted to up to $26.09 per hour. This salary adjustment will be made once the team member has completed the required steps to be entered into the Division of Early Learning Licensing Tool system. In addition, MT provides a salary bonus based on years of teaching experience.
Please know that Martha's Table is responsible for the base pay only. If at any point, the Pay Equity Funds cease, the pay rate will return to the base amount, immediately following the cessation of those Pay Equity Funds.

SCOPE OF SUPERVISION:

General purpose: Student staff support for the Undergraduate Admission office.
Summary of Essential Functions:
Supports Undergraduate Admission Office through clerical/office work.
Gives UG Admission Campus Tours
Assists with UG Admission Events
Typical shift length is 4 hours (for a half-day shift) or 7.5 hours (for a whole day shift)
Oversees the completion of Student Ambassadors' daily tasks and training
Duties & Responsibilities:
Campus Visitor Experience
Greet and provide information to campus visitors at the UGA front desk
Learns how to give 60-90 tours of the MICA campus for daily events and special events to prospective students and their families, and continuously trains self and other tour guides to improve quality and knowledge of MICA's programs and facilities.
Coordinate and supervise campus tour guide coverage schedule
Assist the UG Admission staff in hosting recruitment events by helping with check-in/registration and other event-related duties and tasks.
Office Leadership Responsibilities
Answer phones and general admission-related inquiries, take requests and contact information for campus tours and portfolio reviews/meetings, take messages for counseling staff, and sit at the front desk/reception to relieve the Guest Services Coordinator during breaks and lunch.
Data/Records: helps pack box requests of admission materials for traveling counselors; occasionally helps process informational and yield mailings by stuffing and labeling envelopes and matching names and addresses; sorts and alphabetizes loose credentials for applications; creates application folders.
Student Ambassador Leadership
Trains Student Ambassadors on office tasks and etiquette during guest experiences
Leads Student Ambassadors through daily checklist items, ensuring completion and answering questions when possible.
Remote Work: may be available if the office supports virtual assignments.
Performs other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Multitasks in a busy office setting
Learns/memorizes tour script/facts
Enjoys talking to and working with prospective students and families
Has good customer service skills
Is physically able to walk for extended periods through the MICA campus, including stairs to give campus tours
Knowledge of MICA's programs, facilities, and student life, as well as the MICA Undergraduate Admission office and application/admission procedures.
Possesses practical organizational/problem-solving skills, strong public speaking skills, professional office demeanor, and excellent customer service.
Minimum qualifications:
Current full-time degree-seeking student in good academic standing at MICA
Must be a current Student Ambassador
Interview is required
Conditions of Employment:
Unusual Circumstances related to the position: occasional weekend work and evening hours are required for Special Events. Access to personal computer/laptop and Internet access is required for occasional virtual events and/or remote work.
