Job Description
The Student Game-Day Assistant will play a vital role in supporting Augsburg Athletics by assisting with the successful execution of home athletic events. This position ensures that contests meet NCAA, MIAC, and institutional standards for game-day operations while providing a welcoming and professional atmosphere for student-athletes, officials, and fans.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate game-day roles as assigned (e.g., scoreboard operator, scorekeeper assistant, libero tracker, ball assistant, stats spotter, ticketing/usher support).
Provide direct support to game management staff, officials, and visiting teams.
Serve as a visible and professional representative of Augsburg Athletics, ensuring contests run smoothly and safely.
Address game-day needs quickly and effectively under the supervision of the event manager.
Work Hours
Hours per Week: 4-12 hours per week depending on home event schedule.
Preferred Working Hours: Evenings and weekends, aligned with Augsburg Athletics' home contest schedules.
Flexibility: Hours vary weekly based on the athletic schedule. Shifts are set per contest; students must commit to working assigned events.
Compensation and Benefits
Rate of Pay: $15.97/hour
Minnesota Sick and Safe Time
Not eligible for health insurance benefits
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Work-study eligible
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Dependability, punctuality, and professionalism in game-day settings.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Basic knowledge of sports rules (soccer, volleyball, football, basketball, etc.) is preferred but not required.
Prior event operations or athletics experience is a plus, but training will be provided.

Position Requirements

Strong communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with families and co-workers.
Physical ability to perform essential job functions without health restrictions. Join our Biology Department team as the Osteology Collection Student Intern and help us create a synoptic osteology reference collection. The Osteology Collection Student Intern executes the organization and rehousing of osteological specimens. They will execute all steps of inventorying and moving specimens and keep detailed records of specimens' new locations. As needed, they will conduct archival research to reunite specimens with their data and make custom cavity mounts for specimens. They will also support the process of accessioning and cataloging specimens in the collection, and will engage in outreach to share the impact of the project. They will follow directions from staff from the Biology, Anthropology, and Paleontology Collection and Collections Stewardship to deliver on project goals while performing day-to-day tasks independently. Funding for this project and position was provided by the David B. Jones Foundation to support creation of a reference collection for zooarchaeologists and paleontologists studying Minnesota's ancient faunal systems.
Schedule: 40 hours a week to be performed generally between 9 AM - 5 PM Monday through Friday, with some evening and weekend work required. Duration will be 10-12 weeks during the academic summer break.
Job Responsibilities:
Executes collection inventories and moves.
As directed, performs archives research on osteology specimens of uncertain data status.
Reorganizes osteology specimens and keeps detailed inventories of their new locations and destinations.
As directed, organizes information for accession and deaccession requests for osteology specimens for curatorial review.
Uninstalls, rehouses, and installs osteology specimens in collections.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Current enrollment in an undergraduate (2 or 4 year) degree program in a related field such as biology, archaeology, paleontology, or museum studies, with two years of coursework or equivalent experience completed by the start of the position, is required. Applicants who graduate with a Bachelor's degree in May 2026 may be considered, but strong preference will be given to applicants who are enrolled in Fall 2026 coursework.
Experience:
Strong knowledge of vertebrate skeletal anatomy is required. Experience working in museum collections is preferred.
Work Environment:
Natural history collections settings. Occasional domestic travel may be required, including fully-funded conference attendance after the end of the position. Most if not all work will be executed at SMM's downtown Saint Paul building.
Starting Compensation: $17.00 - $18.33/hour (depending on qualifications)

The Student Internship provides qualified students with practical work experience that compliments their academic course work, as well as course credit. It also provides the Roseville Police Department with an opportunity to involve college students in various aspects of police work. The Student Intern is a seasonal, non-sworn position providing technical and clerical support for the Investigations Unit of the Police Department. The position provides entry-level clerical, technical, and customer service support while building relationships with the community, external agencies, and staff. Students are able to gain valuable work experience, on-the-job training, and have an opportunity to develop a professional networking base for future positions in law enforcement. The Police Intern may be assigned in a Community Liaison role to assist the Department in focusing on law-enforcement and crime-prevention strategies within diverse communities utilizing multicultural and bilingual interactions.

Duties:
* Act as assistant to the certified strength and conditioning coaches and HPC faculty/staff.
* Attend small group strength and conditioning, conditioning, and other fitness classes held by the HPC.
* Assist clients during small group strength and conditioning, conditioning, and other fitness classes held by the HPC.
* Assist in the organization and management of small group strength and conditioning, conditioning, and other fitness classes held by the HPC.
* Comply with HIPAA Policy and procedures well using Jane App for for billing and scheduling.
Qualifications:
* Must be eligible for work-study.
* Must be available to work afternoons/evenings.
* Assistants should have advance interest and knowledge in strength and conditioning with a desire to obtain a certified strength and conditioning specialist certificate.
* Prior background in fitness, exercise physiology, personal training, strength and conditioning, or an associated field. Ideal candidates are within their first four trimesters at NWHSU and can dedicate at least 12 months to working with the HPC strength and conditioning program to ensure consistency with clients.
* Certification required (one or more) -Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), ISSA Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification (SSC), and CSCCa Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC), or other equivalent certifications.
