POSITION SUMMARY
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is excited to announce that we are hiring for seasonal Nature Center Education Assistants! We have multiple openings at five (5) Mecklenburg County facilities- Reedy Creek Nature Center, Eastway Regional Recreation Center, Stevens Creek Nature Center, McDowell Nature Center, and Quest at Latta Nature Preserve. The position duties and schedules will vary at each facility, but all candidates will support our Nature Preserves and Natural Resources staff in providing environmental education & outdoor recreation programming. We currently have 10-Month and 3-Month seasonal positions available. Exact start/end dates will be discussed during the interview process. The selected candidates can expect to work a full-time schedule during the summer (35-40hrs/week) and a part-time schedule in the spring and fall (20-30hr/week). Some weekend and evening work will be required based on business needs.

Behavior Support This employee will participate in staff development and training to gain knowledge of procedures specific to students with behavioral challenges including Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. The employee in this position will prepare a variety of materials and operate the office equipment necessary to prepare these materials. They will participate in the regularly scheduled Behavior Support Team meetings.

Position Summary
This internship consists of a full immersion in athletic training services for Carolina Ascent FC. This will include training set up and break down, pre- and post-training treatments, rehab programming and facilitation, training coverage, match day stretcher crew, and documentation. The intern will not travel with the team but is expected to be present at most, if not all, home matches. The student will work closely with professional athletes, carrying out daily athletic training services under the guidance of the Athletic Training staff. The student is expected to display their current athletic training skills while seeking opportunities to learn new skills. Clinical questions and discussions are encouraged. Professionalism and maturity are always expected while around staff and athletes. The internship will serve toward clinical credit for a CAATE accredited program.
Hours
The Internship schedule will follow the team schedule which is subject to change at any time. The Intern will be asked to work flexible hours, including weekends and late nights. The intern will have off when the team is off but may be asked to assist with non-travel rehabs and trainings. The student can expect to work an average 30-35 hours per week.
Dates
The internship will ideally span the entirety of either the fall or spring Gainbridge Super League season but understanding that each MSAT program has different clinical rotation requirements, the start and end dates can be flexible. The intern must be enrolled in a CAATE accredited program for the entire internship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following are expected of the intern under the supervision of their preceptor(s):
Evaluation, assessment, and documentation of injury
Pre- and post-training treatments
Rehab programming and facilitation
Training and Match Day hydration and medical equipment set up/take down
Match Day treatments
Match Day stretcher crew
Qualifications
Pursuing a Master of Science Degree in Athletic Training from CAATE accredited college or university.
Must be able to receive academic credit towards clinical educational requirements.
Affiliation agreement must be executed between University and Carolina Ascent FC prior to start.
Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
A team player who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced work environment.
Professional demeanor, punctual and reliable.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Willingness to pitch in to support team tasks.
Ability to work under pressure situations.
CPR/BLS certified

Work Environment
This is an in-person position working primarily from Memorial Stadium, with some days being off-site
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Must reside within North Carolina upon date of hire.
Must be able to facilitate their own local travel.
Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to busy athletic facility areas, outside weather conditions and loud noise levels. Must be able to occasionally lift 20+ pounds and be comfortable standing on feet for multiple hours at a time.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Learn from the top emergency veterinary professionals in the business.
* Pair up with an emergency credentialed veterinary technician for real-time mentoring and on-the-floor learning

* Practice skills required by your school's proficiency checklist with mentorship and guidance

WHAT YOU NEED
* Currently enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology or nursing program, or a program actively seeking accreditation; this program is only for students, not future veterinarians or veterinary assistants
* Enrolled in a course that requires externship hours or skills
* Able to start the program within six months of application
* Current rabies vaccination or titer required
* Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and work on the floor as well as ability to lift up to 25 kg on own and able to support up to 40 kg with assistance
* Must be willing to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors
* Work well in a fast-paced environment with people from all backgrounds and different personality types
