Department Summary
The Center for Student Life is looking for dedicated, enthusiastic, personable individuals who are interested in welcoming incoming students to UNT Health Fort Worth!
The Center for Student Life builds community and develops experiences that encourage and support student success. We provide a range of services, which include coordinating institutional events, planning new student orientation, developing leadership programs, supporting student engagement, peer to peer initiatives, overseeing student governments and organizations and collaborating with campus partners.
Position Overview
The Summer Intern will operate within the Center for Student Life, working primarily with the Senior Student Services Coordinator to plan, implement, and execute orientation programs and Welcome Week activities for our graduate health profession programs. Academic programs include the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Health Professions (including Physician Assistant Studies and Doctor of Physical Therapy), College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences, College of Public Health, and the UNT System College of Pharmacy. The Summer Intern will be responsible for increasing student engagement in orientation, developing program assessment and student learning outcomes, assisting in the improvement of an Online Orientation program, developing the training process for Orientation Leaders, expanding and coordinating the role of student groups in orientation, and making recommendations for future orientation programs.
Minimum Qualifications
* A background in student programming or event management.
* A completed Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with team members and students from different backgrounds and cultures.
* Ability to provide excellent customer service.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
* Currently enrolled in a higher education graduate program.
* Prior experience working with orientation or new student programs.
Job Duties
* The intern will help facilitate orientation sessions such as registration, meals, social events, general student questions, and complete special projects as needed.
* Other duties as assigned such as assisting with the 2026 Commencement Ceremony and White Coat Ceremony.
