Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Student Intern to join our Pharmacy team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day. Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, according to state and federal law and in accordance with Park Nicollet policy and procedure, the Pharmacy Student Intern is responsible for providing customer service, and preparing medications and supplies for patients, patient care areas and ancillary departments. The Pharmacy Student Intern also aids the pharmacist in processing of outpatient prescriptions, receives, stocks and reorders medications and supplies, handles cash register transactions, prepares sterile and non-sterile compounds, delivers medications, assists the pharmacist as required. Pharmacy Students in their 2nd-4th year may check the work completed by pharmacy technicians, The Pharmacy Student Intern in their 3rd or 4th year of pharmacy school may also be eligible to assist the Emergency Center Pharmacist with medication reconciliation and the Hospice Program Pharmacist with hospice chart review. Work Schedule: One evening a week/every 4th weekend. Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled in an accredited professional pharmacy program. Must have a valid driver's license and meet the insurability requirements relating to Park Nicollet's motor vehicle violation criteria. Must be registered with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician (first year intern) or as a Pharmacy Intern (second through fourth year intern). Preferred Qualifications: Computer skills and familiarity with office software programs is desirable. Knowledge of automated dispensing products is desirable. ABOUT THE EXTERNSHIP VEG's Veterinary Technician Student Externship Program gives vet tech students hands-on experience in emergency medicine while working alongside our credentialed, emergency veterinary technicians. Students will focus on honing their emergency skills including obtaining patient vitals, processing laboratory samples, caring for hospitalized patients, triaging emerging cases, and collaborating in a fast-paced environment. If you're as interested in emergency medicine as we are, we'd love to have you! Note: This is an unpaid externship and rabies vaccinations are required unless your school's rabies mitigation policy allows you to be unvaccinated and still handle unvaccinated pets. * Flexibility: YOU Choose the length of your externship to meet your school's requirements * Location: YOU choose where you'd like to extern (depending on hospital bandwidth) * Mentorship: YOU will be supported by a credentialed veterinary technician * Focus: YOU will be fully-immersed in what emergency medicine truly entails REQUIREMENTS * Currently enrolled in an AVMA accredited veterinary technology or veterinary nursing program (or one actively seeking accreditation) and will be in a class that requires externship hours and/or skills. This application is not for veterinary students or veterinary assistant students - only veterinary technology or veterinary nursing students. * Your externship must need to begin within 6 months of application. * You must be vaccinated for rabies unless your school's rabies mitigation policy allows unvaccinated students to handle unvaccinated animals.

We have digital radiography, a full in-house lab, and reference laboratory availability for sending out more involved testing. Our hospital began in 2005 and since then has grown to employ an over 20 person team of veterinarians, technicians, and receptionists. Position Purpose Come extern with us! Heartland Veterinary Partners' Externship Program works to provide 1st-4th year veterinary students with hands-on experience and mentorship to help have them 'practice ready' by their first day in practice. Externships are typically 2 weeks long and Heartland will cover the cost of lodging if needed. Length of externship is flexible & we can support your preceptorship documentation as well.
